You're invited!

Our founder Hannah Aften is teaching in the upcoming free Herbal Seed-Starting Workshop Series with Herbal Academy and we’re so excited to see her sharing what she knows. If you’ve ever dreamed of growing your own apothecary garden but feel a little stuck on the seed-starting step, this series was created for exactly that.

A lot of herbalists and gardeners get to that that moment where they want to grow more plants but aren’t quite sure how to begin with seeds. Hannah will be teaching the session on seed-starting equipment, where she’ll walk through the different setups you can use. Everything from making your own little seed pots to using trays and keeping things simple.

Here’s the full lineup:

🌿 March 9 (1 pm EST) — Why Start Seeds? with Lisa Olson

🌿 March 11 (1 pm EST) — Seed-Starting Equipment with Hannah Lasorsa

🌿 March 13 (1 pm EST) — The Step-by-Step Seed-Starting Process with Cristina Asensio Foley

The series is especially helpful if you’re hoping to grow herbs for an apothecary garden, but the information applies to vegetables and flowers too.

Registration is free! Everyone who signs up gets limited-time replays plus downloadable guides and troubleshooting resources.

If you’re an herbalist or plant-based business owner trying to keep your brand visuals consistent, here’s something from our designer, Sandra, that we come back to often:

“Keeping a cohesive brand look is about making sure every design feels like part of the same universe. Even if the layout changes, it’s about maintaining the vibe… using brand elements thoughtfully and keeping a steady visual rhythm. The goal is for everything to feel intentional and connected, without being repetitive.”

We love that reminder. It’s not about making every post look the same, but instead it’s about making sure they all belong together. ✨

A few easy ways to do that?

🌿 Stick to a consistent color palette inspired by your products or services (think nettle green, calendula gold, rose petal pink, etc.)

🌿 Repeat visual elements like a dried herb backdrop, your favorite tea mug, tincture bottles, or pressed flowers that people will come to associate with you

🌿 Choose a consistent botanical illustration style—whether it’s hand-drawn line art, vintage woodcut, or soft watercolor, pick one that reflects your brand’s feel and stick with it (you can find a lot of great options on Etsy and Creative Marketplace!)

🌿 Format your plant references the same way across your content: Common name (Latin name), part used — like this, "chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla), flowers"

🌿 Be intentional with change. New layouts are fine, just make sure the visuals still feel rooted in your brand.

Keep asking: Does this reflect our values? Does this feel like our brand? That’s the real secret!

You don’t need a fancy studio to create beautiful, on-brand content for your herbal business—just a little planning, good light, and a cozy corner. 🌿📸

Here are some of our favorite tips for setting up a DIY herbal content space:

💡 Find your best natural light: Soft, indirect light from a window is your best friend. Morning and late afternoon work great. Be sure to turn off overhead lights to avoid shadows and mixed tones.

🖼️ Define your visual style: Think about what you want people to feel when they see your content. Look for consistent themes in lighting, textures, props, and background surfaces. Let your brand colors guide you.

📍 Set up a go-to content spot: Whether it's a corner of your kitchen or your herbal clinic, having a dedicated space makes it easy to shoot consistently and stay inspired.

🌿 Style your scene with intention: Use props that support your story: fresh herbs, tincture bottles, bowls, baskets, even books. Keep it natural and true to your brand.

🛠️ Polish with editing tools: Apps like Lightroom can help your photos look cohesive and professional with just a few simple edits.

✨ Don’t have time to DIY your content? We’re here to help! From product photography to styled brand shoots, we can help bring your herbal vision to life. Plus, we now offer herbal stock photography for those who want herb-themed photos on a budget. Link in bio for more.

When Monday rolls around, it’s easy to feel a little off. Whether you're easing into the week or jumping straight into to-dos, herbal practices can help you feel more grounded, focused, and supported. 🌿✨

Here are a few of our favorite ways to start the week with plants:

☕ Herbal Coffee Alternative: We love Roasted Kokora Lift for a jitter-free boost. This blend features roasted dandelion and chicory root. It's nourishing, grounding, and made with regenerative, organic ingredients. Plus, it tastes just like coffee!

🌬️ Aromatherapy Support: We’re big fans of distilling essential oils, and one of our favorite blends came from working on an online course for . It’s the house blend at her spa—equal parts lavender, cardamom, and citrus—and it’s amazing for calming the nervous system and clearing the mind.

🍵 A Slow Morning Tea: Brew a nourishing infusion with nettles, milky oats, raspberry leaf, and lemon balm. We recommend ’s recipes on their blog for easy, supportive blends to sip throughout the day. Try making a big jar on Sunday night to sip throughout Monday and the rest of the week!

🧴 Herbal Body Oil Massage: Start your day with abhyanga, an herbal oil massage that supports lymph flow and clears stagnant energy. We love ’s herb-infused body oil for feeling supported and grounded.

📖 Read Something That Grounds You: The book Evolutionary Herbalism by Sajah Popham, co-founder of - offers deep insight into the science and spirit of plant medicine for a new paradigm of herbalism. A great way to start the week feeling aligned.

Whatever your Monday looks like, herbs have your back. 🌱 Save this for later or share it with a friend who needs a soft start to their week!

If you’ve been pouring your heart into your herbal offerings but not seeing much traffic on your site… it might be time to show your search engine optimization (SEO) a little love.

Here are 3 simple ways to get started:

🔍 Use keywords your community is actually searching for (think: their questions, not just plant names)

🌼 Create blog posts that teach, inspire, and guide (and use those SEO phrases in the title, subheads, and multiple times in the blog post text)

🌱 Add gentle nudges (aka internal links) to help folks explore more of your site. We often do this as a "more resources" section with links to other blog posts or services on our client's website.

With the right SEO support, your website can keep welcoming new people to your work—even while you're out harvesting herbs, making products, or sipping tea.

✨ Need help optimizing your SEO? Book a discovery call. We offer a custom SEO audit filled with ideas for a marketing strategy that feels aligned and gets results.
