Content creation quick tip #4: show your photos

People love to see other people; that’s why they go on social media. Our next tip is to show your face once in a while! Whether you’re a one-man show or you have a whole team behind you, you can find ways to post pictures and videos of your team.

If you work alone, you could take videos of you making your product, living the lifestyle you promote, etc. If you work with a team, show your team bonding experiences, team outings, employee of the month, and more!

Get the most out of your testimonials and reviews by showing them on your social media. Most of the time, people will only see your reviews if they are pretty far into the marketing funnel. That means that they are already strongly considering your business. Give your business a boost and show your testimonials and reviews at earlier stages of the marketing funnel!

Have you heard of Feedly? Feedly is a website where you can customize news and blogs to your specific interests. This may be extremely helpful for you if you’re in a specialty business and have trouble finding content.

Looking at other blogs and stories could help you think of new ideas. Or, you could partner with those authors and businesses to increase your own brand visibility.

Content creation quick tip #1: Find social media “holidays” that align with your business goals and ideals. If you run a bakery, “National Cupcake Day” could work for your business. Alternatively, a gift shop could benefit from something like “Grandparents Day.”

SEO quick tip #4: try targeting completely new keywords

First, search for niche skillsets within your field. If you excel in one of these areas, try to rank on search engines for them. Integrate those keywords across your web pages.

Another way to do this is by becoming ~the~ expert at a new or rising skill and using those keywords on your website. If something is brand new and you’re ahead of the game, you’ll be competing with tens to hundreds of articles rather than thousands.

SEO quick tip #3: getting backlinks the right way

If you’ve done any SEO research, you’ve hard of backlinks time and time again. But, you might be wondering, how do I get backlinks without paying websites or soliciting?

Here’s the key: be a resource! People link to resources and helpful tools. If your website or blog helps someone or gives someone a new view, you will start getting links.

One way to do this is to do the research on what people write about before you write yoru pages and blogs.

SEO quick tip #2: decrease your bounce rate and increase your dwell time!

How much time people spend on your page matters. If your site has “clickbait” webpage titles but doesn’t deliver, people will not want to stay on your page.

So, how do we find the balance between catchy titles and appealing content?

- Use photos and videos to capture your audience’s attention
- Utilize large titles to break up text
- Try different colors and fonts to make content more appealing
- Start with what your audience is looking for

So this month, let’s talk about SEO in some easy, bite-sized tips.

Our first SEO quick tip: check in on your website’s loading time/speed. If your website loads slowly, it will rank worse on Google. But, here’s the real kicker: a slow loading speed might not even be noticeable on your end!

If you find that your site isn’t as quick as you’d like, you could:
- Compress your site’s photos
- Move to a better website host
- Reduce file sizes
- Delete unnecessary widgets, files, and themes
