Here are three marketing mistakes that cafe/restaurant owners frequently make.

1️⃣There is no loyalty programme in place, which is critical for four reasons. First off, loyalty programmes can aid in retaining consumers by making them feel like "part of the team." Additionally, customers will be rewarded for their loyalty with discounts, which will encourage them to choose your restaurant over others. The loyalty programme can also draw in new consumers, you can monitor client spending patterns (which is useful for future marketing), and loyalty programmes may encourage customers to spend more because they feel like they are getting more for their money.

2️⃣ You should hold events to draw consumers to the restaurant, showcase the branding of the establishment (and its distinctive offers), create buzz about the café, and foster loyalty.

3️⃣ Restaurants and cafes who don't use social media are losing out on the possibility to develop a relationship and sense of community with their customers. When you publish frequently and interact with clients' profiles on social media, you can maintain their loyalty. Additionally, it enables the café or restaurant to advertise any menu items or future events. Responding to consumer inquiries and feedback on social media is another way to handle customer service.

To all you restaurant (or cafe) owners out there you may be making this crucial mistake when it comes to your marketing strategy!

Traditional marketing methods such as billboards, flyers and word of mouth marketing are great methods to share your services to a local audience, however if you are looking to increase your revenue and have a large pool of returning customers, you need to be utilising social media correctly.

Social media can provide an audience with a physical view of the food/drink you sell and with videos you can share your brand personality. In this modern society, people are reliant on social media when deciding wether they want to visit you. If your posts are low quality, or you have nothing to show at all, they will simply visit a competitor who is online. This is because they can make an opinion as to wether they’ll like their food and drink based off their impression of them online.

1. Ignoring your instagram analytics - these are not random numbers and graphs produced for the sake of it, they are there to provide you with insights as to what you are doing good and bad in, and we can always use a little feedback to improve ourselves!

2. You don't use the topics option for reels - the topics option is an excellent tool to push your content to the right audience. There’s no use pushing your content to people who will not engage with it, which is why this tool pushes the post to people who interact with similar topics to which you selected

3. You don’t understand your niche - this one is obvious yet still many people make this mistake. Understanding your niche means that you understand how they behave and what their issues are. Once you understand this, you can create your content tailored to what your niches needs, rather than posting content that provides them with no value

4. You don’t have a CTA or your CTA is just not good enough - people are not mind readers and they dont always think to “click the link” or “save this post”. If you tell them why they will benefit from engaging with your post - for example “follow for marketing tips” people are much more likely to follow your CTA compared to if you simply say “follow”

5. You don't plan your content ahead of time - I myself have made this mistake. Previously, I would think of a post on the day, write my captions, post and then I wouldn’t look back until the next day. This mistake slowed my Instagram growth and caused me to make mistakes in my posts too. By planning ahead of time, you see potential mistakes, you have more time on your hands to write excellent captions and you can reduce the stress of needing to think of new content each day
