The pandemic forced people to look for safer buying options via online shopping. Social media has become a large part of those online purchases, and this tendency is not slowing down.

According to eMarketer, social shopping, which includes transactions performed on or through platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, will be a $45.7 billion market by the end of this year. Influencers and content creators through their product promotions, posts, unboxing videos and reviews supported these efforts.

Working with influencers could be a great way to increase conversions through influencer marketing efforts.

Purchases made through social media posts are expected to more than double between 2021 and 2025, according to eMarketer’s report from May 2021.

Over the next three years, Elon Musk wants to increase Twitter's userbase by over 200%. How exactly this will happen is not known yet, however an article in Social Media Today shared some key points outlined in a pitch deck presented to investors. Among the lofty goals includes:

• Increase userbase from 229 million daily actives to 600 million by 2025.
• 5X increase in revenue from $5B to $26.5B by 2028
• Ads income to drop to 45% of company's revenue...currently represents 90% of intake
• Job cuts to approx 1K staff over the next year before adding 2,700 new employees by 2025

Elon Musk's focus is expected to be on subscriptions and boosting the number of people who pay to access the app as a way to reduce Twitter's reliance on ad revenue. Twitter Blue has not been successful thus far, and he plans to increase subscribers to 69 million by 2025. It will be interesting to see how this plays out and how Musk will achieve the proposed.
