A message from Matt Nation, Managing Director at Verhoef:

'At Verhoef Training we are only too aware of the enormous impact that COVID-19 is having on all of our lives, both personally and professionally. These are unprecedented times, and we are all having to make adjustments to the ways we live and work. Like many businesses across the UK, our training centre in Bath is now temporarily closed and we are all having to get used to working from home, with all the myriad of distractions that this encompasses.

Simultaneously homeschooling a seven year old and running a company is certainly proving to be a challenge, and giving me a new-found respect for primary school teachers!

Fortunately, we are well placed to continue doing what we do best - providing technical IT training classes to the UK and beyond - thanks to our many years of experience delivering live instructor led courses via our Virtual Classrooms, using the popular Zoom platform.
All of our classes are now available virtually, with all of our course labs adapted to work online, with browser based access - meaning you can attend your class from a home environment with a standard home PC and internet access. We just ask that you use a headset for the audio to help maintain audio quality.

With so many staff members working remotely now this could be the perfect opportunity to expand skills and improve effectiveness. And once the present situation improves, we'll be here to support you whenever you need it with our unlimited post-course support pledge.

The current coronavirus epidemic is causing difficulties for everyone, and we have lost the majority of our clients as they face uncertain times economically.
However, my Nan always used to say 'this too shall pass' so I am reminding myself of that, and everything I have to be grateful for.

'Came to my rescue at 6pm on a Saturday evening after I had lost my van keys, whilst walking! Cold, tired, wet and muddy with three grumpy dogs in tow! Got my van open, cut and coded me new keys despite the locks on the vehicle giving him grief and saved me the worry of having to leave my vehicle in a risky area overnight! Cannot thank you enough! Absolutely recommended!'

✨ Caroline, how long have you been with Verhoef?

Literally half my life! I arrived in this country in 1996 and was looking for a teaching position. Dave hired me for a (then) part-time admin job. It soon became full-time and we were really busy in those early days. A small team operating from an attic room in the middle of Bath. How did we all fit in there? I never looked for that teaching post again!

✨ And what's the best thing about working for the company?

The team; we're all mates. And the instructors ... such characters! Having an office in the city-centre helps too.

✨ What do you enjoy doing when you are not hard at work?

Learning languages (French & Spanish) and speaking languages (preferably in France & Spain).

✨ Verhoef is of course situated in the beautiful city of Bath. What are your top tips for visitors to this beautiful city?
