A realigned era of Wilona is arriving this Friday. 💭💻🪩

I originally started this agency back in 2020 with the idea of helping small biz owners leverage social media platforms to expand their brands online. But, as my business grew, so did my vision.

This next iteration of Wilona is a natural progression of our conviction to go against the grain and approach marketing with more meaning. In all we do, we prioritize intentionality over intensity. We’ve too grown fatigued by the cookie-cutter marketing approaches that are sold to us daily via social media streams and overwhelming advice from "experts" in the industry. We don’t do strategy based in shallow trends, transactional approaches, or get-rich-quick schemes.

Wilona exists to help intentional brands attract their dream audience in a way that feels authentic and aligned. Our methods act as a catalyst for creating community and consumer commitment far beyond the screen.

I’ll be sharing little bits of insight into the evolution of this rebrand and website launch leading up to Friday. Until then, take a look at some of the visual inspo that sparked a bolder, better version of Wilona.

(The last slides even reflect on the roots of our name because although we’re going through a lot of change, some parts of our brand will always stay the same.)

And a major thanks to .co for being my creative muse/therapist during the journey into this next era. Couldn’t have done it without you.

Your aesthetically pleasing IG grid might not be cutting it & here’s why:

Content needs to CONNECT. It’s the bridge between your customer and business.

Your social posts can look visually appealing but won’t translate into real sales if they’re….

1. Created and posted with no real strategy
2. Designed to strictly “look good” or be trendy
3. Looks great to you but doesn’t align or attract your ideal customer
4. Provides zero to little value to consumers
5. Lacks a consistent thread of storytelling

Can we still have stunning feeds and branding? Absolutely.

However, showing up on social authentically is typically a blend of creativity, market research, storytelling, and providing value. Social media can be leveraged by businesses to develop a story brand, not just a mood board.

They can inspire and educate consumers to not just follow their page or buy a product/service, but to get invested in their whole brand community.

True fans are always better than followers.

Authentic stories sell. Make sure your brand is telling theirs well.

Is staying consistent on social hard for your brand?

A practice we build into client strategies is content pillar development.

This means we establish different pillars (or topics/areas) of content to pull from and integrate into our social planning calendar.

Aiming for 5-10 different pillars is a great start - the amount is highly dependent on your access to various content and social strategy.

The purpose of pillars isn’t one-dimensional. Pillars help brands…

1. Show up on social without running out of ideas or going long periods of time without posting
2. Not feel stuck when looking at a blank content planning calendar
3. Ensure content ties back to your overall strategy and goals
4. Offer followers a sense of familiarity through visual and verbal brand consistency
5. To identify any content or concepts that should take priority and include at your brand’s desired frequency

Hey, Ashley here! I’m the founder + owner of Wilona Marketing…

Some things about me:

When I’m not building or brainstorming strategies for clients you can find me trying new restaurants, listening to podcasts, perfecting my aperol spritz recipe, or reading a self-development book.

I was born and raised in Southern California and have a Bachelors in Business Marketing. In early 2020 I received my Masters in Digital Communications with an emphasis in Social Media.

When it comes to marketing - it’s always just clicked for me. I’m obsessed with the ever evolving blend of creativity and science that I get to exercise on a daily basis in my work.

In an industry filled with disconnected methods and unsustainable strategies, I’m on a mission to shake things up.

I’ve built an agency that challenges the status quo and does marketing in meaningful ways that are rooted in storytelling, creative visual + verbal messaging, and connective content.

To learn more about me, head to the link in bio and check out the “approach” page on our new site.

I’m elated for what this upcoming year holds! Get ready for lotttts of valuable marketing content headed your way.

“It’s just not for me” or “My sales are just fine without it” or “I don’t even know where to start” are reasonings I hear all the time from business owners who don’t have a cement social game plan in place.

A question to consider is…why wouldn’t you want to have a presence in an area where potential customers spend a huge portion of their time? 📲

Believe it or not, the average person spends just under 2.5 hours on social platforms PER DAY.

The reality is that social media influences consumer behavior *heavily* and even (often) subconsciously.

As the younger generations continue to grow into a space where they hold more purchasing power, social elements to a marketing strategy will continue to be of high importance and necessary to sustain a business long term. 📈

Let’s stop making excuses and start taking social - and its ability to be a sales funnel - seriously.

Link in bio to take the first step and book a discovery call. It’s time to level up.
