~ The Incredibly Amazing Real-life Story That Inspired Popeye, The Sailor Man ~

Popeye the Sailor Man, created by American cartoonist Elzie Crisler Segar, is one of the most beloved and iconic cartoon characters of all time. With his distinct appearance, love for spinach, and ability to fight off villains, Popeye has captured the hearts of millions of people around the world. But what many people do not know is that the character was inspired by a real-life man named Frank "Rocky" Fiegel.

Frank Fiegel was born in the late 1800s in Chester, Illinois, a small town near the Mississippi River. He was known for his tough, rough-and-tumble personality and was not afraid to stand up for himself in a fight. He was also known for his love of ci**rs, which he would often chew on, and his unkempt appearance, with a bulging left eye that was often described as "popeyed".

It was these traits that caught the attention of Elzie Segar, who grew up in Chester and knew Frank well. When Segar created Popeye, he used Frank as the basis for the character and incorporated many of Frank's physical and personality traits into the cartoon. For example, Popeye's bulging left eye and tough, rough-and-tumble personality were both inspired by Frank, as was his love of ci**rs, which were transformed into Popeye's love of spinach.

In addition to being the inspiration for Popeye's appearance and personality, Frank was also a close friend of Segar's. The two men remained friends throughout their lives, and Frank would often visit Segar in his studio. In fact, Frank was so proud of the character he inspired that he would carry around a small figurine of Popeye and show it to anyone who would look.

Sadly, Frank passed away in 1947, just a few years after the creation of Popeye. However, his legacy lives on through the character that Segar created, and Popeye remains one of the most recognizable and beloved cartoon characters of all time.

In conclusion, Popeye the Sailor Man is much more than just a fictional character; it is a tribute to a real-life man who inspired the artist to create one of the most iconic figures in cartoon history. ~PURE GENIUS~

One of the richest and most powerful men in Brazil, Thane Chiquinho Scarpa, made waves when he announced plans to bury his million-dollar Bentley, so he could drive around his afterlife in style. He received lots of media attention, mostly negative and was severely criticized for the extravagant gesture and wasting of a precious commodity. Why wouldn’t he donate the car to charity? How out of touch with reality is this guy? He still went ahead with the ceremony.

But, there’s a twist. (Of course there is. Why else would I be covering this story?)

Moments before lowering the car in the ground prepared for the burial of his Bentley, he declared that he wouldn't bury his car and then revealed his genuine motive for the drama: Just to create awareness for organ donation.

“People condemn me because I wanted to bury a million dollar Bentley, in fact most people bury something a lot more valuable than my car,” Scarpa said during a speech at the ceremony. “They bury hearts, livers, lungs, eyes, kidneys. This is absurd. So many people waiting for a transplant and you bury your healthy organs that could save so many lives!”

WHY MEN ARE CALLED "GROOM”, AND THE WOMAN “THE BRIDE” ON WEDDING DAY?

Why is the newly wedded man called groom and the woman called bride?

A friend of mine got tired of his wife just about six months after wedding. He complained bitterly to me about her and told me that he has concluded to break up with her; he went on to say that he was sure that he made a mistake.

I did not respond immediately because I knew I must tell him that right thing, so I went home.

And that is what birth this message.

Many men have broken up with their wives because they end up not being the wife that they have dreamt of. But they have forgotten that on their wedding day was when the man was commissioned for the new task.

Nobody calls the woman wife on her wedding day but bride, because it is the man that will groom his bride to become the wife.

That is why the man is called ‘bridegroom or groom’ and the word grooming has to do with patiently nurturing, teaching, tending and helping someone to become what he or she should be.

It is therefore believed that a man that takes a woman to the altar of marriage is matured enough to patiently groom his bride to become the wife. The man is not supposed to just expect the bride to automatically become the wife, she must be groomed.

It is clear that many of us men have unnecessary expectations when we were getting married, we want some magic to happen to our wives, we want them to become what we have had in mind about who we want our wives to be; not considering the fact that the woman does not know what is on your mind except you teach her.

Our expectations are often too unrealistic, because we don’t remember that change takes time and we can only expect something from someone that knows what we want.

So before you think of breaking up, have you groomed her? Have you given her time to understand you? Hope you realize that a turtle will never become a hawk? God often brings people that are opposites of each other together in marriage so that they can help each other in their place of weaknesses.

If your wife is weak where you are weak, then where will you get the strength that is needed? The problem with many of us is that we don’t accept people before attempting to change them. Of course, our wives are not from our backgrounds, so it will take time for them to adjust.

Stop trying to change her, accept her, love her, teach her and be patient with her; that is what grooming is all about. She is going to be your wife but she is your bride now, so groom her. Stop complaining about her, she may be a turtle and you a hawk, she cannot fly so be patient with her.

I don’t believe that your marriage can’t work, be patient and allow God to help you.
