Dave and Terri Hedges hired me for my first job when I moved to TN in 2005.
As a Customer Service Rep at "Mailer's Choice," I learned how to talk to clients, design USPS-compliant direct mail pieces, procure zip code-specific mailing lists (and even operate a shrink wrapper 😛).
After catching up with them last night, I left inspired to be a better person. Here's why:
❤️ Dave volunteers twice a week at Centennial Hospital, walking heart surgery patients through what to expect pre and post-op. As a former patient, he provides the personal insight and comfort a surgical team cannot. He even created a "zipper club" for patients to connect with others in recovery when they go home.
🤲🏻 Terri's joyful demeanor and generous spirit make her the go-to person for anyone going through hardship. Terri often answered the phone in the middle of the night for former staff, talked them through tragedies, and generously supported them with time and money while they got back on their feet.
🐾 Dave and Terri have volunteered as foster parents and advocates for Greyhound Rescue for years. Some of my favorite co-workers ever were their three sweet hounds.
Dave and Terri are such an example of what it can look like to build something together and use it to give back to the community.
I am lucky that the Hedges were my first bosses 18 years ago and to have such incredible Business Partner role models.
