Recently, my 8 yo son and I started to use a kid's debit card that allows us to split his allowance into 70% spending, 10% saving, 10% sharing and 10% investing.
It has made my life easier for being free from collecting changes, still we need to learn more about saving, sharing and investing.

For a while, I was a believer of "you earn for what you worked" ( in another words "no work, no money") applies to kids too. But even when if you are a child and don't have jobs, you are still a member of the family and therefore you need to contribe in chores and need to learn how to manage money.
