“Is it tomato dumping season? Apparently it is. This has been an issue these past few years and it is one of the reasons why we became Rural Rising. The first farmers we rescued were those who had unsold tomatoes because of COVID-19 travel restrictions and lack of buyers.”

Someone from our condo was gracious enough to get everyone to pitch in, making a group buy of 20 kilos of tomatoes straight from Filipino farmers. Perfect is the enemy of good, and this is one place to start. Salamat

If you've lived/worked in Makati CBD, you stepped into a movie set. Here's why

Working Girls (1984) Appreciation Post:

1) When Anne (Chandra Romero) got her promotion, she was sitting inside Pioneer House, right across Greenbelt 1 in Legaspi Village. Greenbelt launched in 1991, so shopping centers in the area were vastly different from what we know today.

Corinthian Plaza is right across.

2) When Rose (Maria Isabel Lopez) was looking for a way to get easy money, it was arpund Salcedo Village, when it was still barely occupied.

3) The opening and closing scenes of the film were shot what is now known as NEX Tower, whereas the building used in the film was demolished sometime in the early 2010s.

4) The aerobics scene was shot in Legaspi Village, in a low rise called Parkview. It is now known as the Eton Parkview, right across Washington and Legaspi Parks.

FYI, Floro Blue Printing is still around, just along Rufino instead of Gamboa.

5) Before the underpass was installed in the 90s, you can cross along the streets of Ayala. Suzanne (Carmi Martin) seen here prospecting a new job by crossing Paseo de Roxas.
