My #1 CliftonStrength® is Strategic, which is all about sorting through clutter to find the best way forward. Here's how I work when I'm in the zone.

1. I consider scenarios and identify possible sinkholes. It's like a movie reel moving through my mind.
2. I toss out anything that is impossible, too difficult to execute, or doesn't fit the timeline, budget, or client priorities
3. I see a strategy that is based on smart marketing, looks good, is doable, and meets the parameters
4. I have my "Rocky moment."

As my #1 strength, this is what I naturally do best. You might call it my superpower.

Trust changes everything. In relationships. In business. In marketing. In military transition. And humans? Well, we don't connect with perfection—we connect with
👉 honesty
👉 consistent communication
👉 hard conversations
👉 authenticity

All the things that build trust. Think about the brands you go to over and over again and mentally check off the list above. I'll bet they do every one of those four things and more.

Building trust is one thing I am passionate about. It's also one of the reasons I became a Gallup CliftonStrengths Coach. Understanding how others work makes building trust even easier. Coming full circle - the reputation of Gallup is what drew me to that coaching certification above all others.

If you haven't had a chance to learn about strengths, drop me a note and I'll shoot you an offer for the CliftonStrengths Top 5 Assessment and an initial coaching package.

Check off those trust boxes for me now because I'm asking you to trust me...you'll love the value you find in knowing your strengths!

Write it like you'd say it so you sound real instead of sounding "right." Reading your content out loud identifies where you can simplify the process, the thought, or the idea.

Especially if you're using AI to help you generate. Reading it out loud will help you personalize it the way you would say it. AI is great for idea generation and drafting copy, but it shouldn't replace your important final voice as the small business owner.

Your ideal client is going to appreciate it if you: say it → simplify it → share it.

I write great stories for businesses that need support in this area. 🔗 https://nomadabout.com/

If your business feels off, don't blow it up. 👉 Start with one thing.

Think this: Keep what works. Ditch what drains you. Try one small shift this week.

That's it. Most people try to fix everything at once. That's why nothing sticks. Small adjustments that actually fit you will beat a full reset every time.

Psst 👉 it's called a micro-action!

What's one thing you'd ditch right now?

You are not lazy. And you are not broken.

If you keep procrastinating on visibility, marketing, or that next bold move in your business — this episode is going to shift everything.

We are talking with Sarah Laverty, an Embodiment Coach who helps founders get out of their heads and into their bodies so they can take aligned, sustainable action. Instead of trying to “fix” procrastination, she teaches entrepreneurs how to understand it — and work with their nervous system instead of against it.

In this episode, we unpack:

- Why procrastination is often a protection response — not a discipline problem
- How visibility triggers show up in small business owners
- A simple way to shift from avoidance to action without forcing it

If you have ever said, “Why can’t I just do the thing?” — this one is for you.

Listen in and walk away with a totally different lens on how you get things done.

Guest Jaqueline Prattipati with JGP Styled Me gave me permission to rock my Harley Davidson vest at a business event.

I've got to know. What would you rock to a business meeting if you felt fully confident in your style?

Loved this fun conversation that shares how showing up as yourself is actually a boost to your business success!

You stayed busy. Great. Did anything actually move?

A lot of entrepreneurs fill their day with “productive” tasks and avoid the few things that would change their business. When we dig down into the why, it's because they dread doing what they THINK it takes to make something happen. That tells me they're working against their strengths.

Reaching out to a potential client can look different based on your strengths.

👍 If you lead with Activator, it might sound like:
“Hey, I know this is your goal, and I'm ready to help you get there. Can we talk it through?”

👍 If you lead with Relator or Developer, it might sound like:
“Hey, I’ve been thinking about what you shared. I've got some ideas that you can implement to make it happen.”

👍 If you lead with Input, it might sound like:
“I came across something that made me think of you. I'd like to send it over and set up some time to talk?”

Be honest about how you do things best. Then go do it.

We've been talking about this 👉 It's what happens when you build and follow a plan that doesn't fit your strengths.

So you start, second-guess, stall, and repeat.

That cycle isn't random. It's what happens when the strategy doesn't match how you think, decide, and execute.
Before you go find something new, take a hard look at what you're trying to force.

What's one thing in your business you keep trying to make work?
