8 themes for the near future of TECH.
✅ Another round of “the roaring 20's” is ahead of us, where the pent-up desires from the pandemic will be unleashed in the form of fashion, travel, and culture-bending creative self-expression.
✅ “Decentralized” is spreading to unexpected places.
✅ The Era of Eduployment: Identifying a trade, getting an education, and getting a job (or starting a company) become fully integrated.
✅ A few seemingly quirky social apps will tune into the under 16 demographic’s distinct approach to creation as a form of self-expression and tolerance for transparency by default.
✅ Talent will increasingly own their audience, with the rise of “channels of one” and community-as-a-service.
✅ More and more niche functions of the enterprise will become multi-player, powered by a next generation of highly specialized, AI-bolstered, enterprise companies with consumerized product experiences.
✅ Creativity tools will be deployed across the enterprise, much like productivity tools were deployed in previous decades.
✅ New and disruptive interfaces will emerge that aggregate and connect the underlying services we use to live and work.

Looking ahead, there are a few major themes I’m particularly excited about that will spawn great companies and change daily life….

22-year-old MrBeast is YouTube's top creator of 2020. He has 48M, 4B views a year, 50 employees.
How he did it? Learn – build – measure – learn.
In the fall of 2016 Jimmy Donaldson try to unlocking the secrets of YouTube’s algorithm: how exactly does a video go viral on YouTube?
“I woke up, I studied YouTube, I studied videos, I studied filmmaking, I went to bed and that was my life.”
One day, he was struck with an idea for a video that he was sure would work. Donaldson sat down in a chair and, for the the next 40-plus hours, murmured one number after the next, starting from zero and continuing all the way to 100,000.
The resulting video — entitled “I COUNTED TO 100000!” — was a viral smash. Since its debut on Jan. 8, 2017, it has earned over 21 million views.
The video helped give rise to one of the unlikeliest success stories on YouTube. Over the past four years his channel has amassed more than 48 million subscribers.

Jimmy Donaldson, aka MrBeast, was the top creator on YouTube this year. Now he wants to sell you hamburgers.

Tech trend in 2021 and the fourth industrial revolution.
Amazon will expand its Go store chain - shops that don't have a checkout.
For customers it would speed up shopping as they can pick up the products they want and just leave the store. A clever combination of cameras and artificial intelligence tracks what they have taken and bills them when they leave.
As well as saving money on the space needed for checkouts and the staff to run them, Go-style shopping also minimises contact with surfaces, which could be an attraction in a post-Covid world.

From a potentially record-breaking electric plane, to new homeworking tech, what to watch out for in 2021.
