What this book is
This book “Engineering of Medical X-ray Imaging” is a different approach to the subject. A starting information concerning the x-ray tubes, high tension cables, x-ray generation, and other things at this level of knowledge, presumably has to be known to the reader. This is important, and actually the book starts after this. The aim of this book is to make the reader more familiar with how the projection x-ray imaging systems are performing. On the other hand, the book provides a roadmap to the engineering training programs in this field. The book deals mainly with the engineering ideas. Yet, information has been discussed from physics and technology that are necessary to understand the engineering ideas. Understanding the engineering ideas is the master key to understand the technologies produced by the manufacturers.
The book covers almost the whole modalities of x-ray imaging systems ending with the Digital Radiography, Digital Fluoroscopy and Digital Angiography. It employs the approach of dipping the reader in the subject from the first instant, and he will discover how simple is to interact with this approach. The book is concise, comprehensive and powered by plenty of illustrating figures.
For whom this book is
This book can be beneficial for all engineers concerned with the field of medical x-ray imaging. For those going to a job interview, knowing the information contained in this book is a big advantage. For the junior engineers who just joined the field of medical x-ray engineering, it helps them to receive specialized training to service the diagnostic x-ray machines. For the skilled engineers it is a pleasant "back to school".
