If My Heart Was A Door
If my heart was a door
It would be a sanctuary
A welcoming space
It would be open
With sensitivity
Resilience would be its key
Knock and it shall be opened
Wisely
It’s been locked a few times
I had to
Nailed it shut with crazy glue
Because I let the wrong people in
A time or two and more than a few
But I found a way to get them out
I turned on my light
Without a doubt they faded
In the darkest clout
If my heart was a door
Knock and it shall be opened
You can ring my bell
Who is it
Please know who you are
Because on the other side is
Where I AM
The Key is to get to the other side
I promise
Perhaps my heart is a door
