💞 THIRTY & THANKFUL 💞

I turned 30 two weeks ago ✨...and this week marks a full year since I was placed onto full-time furlough.

While the final year of my 20s certainly didn't go as planned (and I definitely did not get the 30th at Glasto I had my heart set on 😂), I am so grateful to have had the time and head space to get to where I am now on this little business journey of mine.

The biggest thank you to clients past, present and future for trusting me with your projects, my wonderful creative collaborators, and everyone who has shown even just a little bit of support throughout the year.

I am so appreciative and I cannot wait to see what's in store as everything starts to look a little brighter ☀️

🎙️ ON RECORD - AARON FRAZER 🎙️

Having the office radio to myself, a bit of extra time on my hands and some spare pocket money from not going out every weekend means my vinyl collection has doubled in the past year 🤣

Shout out to my brother who got me onto Aaron Frazer and this killer debut solo album. He's a super talented musician (also known as the drummer/multi-instrumentalist and co-vocals for Durand Jones & The Indicators), and this album hits on a little bit of everything I love.

A real vintage vibe with the smoothest falsetto voice, jam packed with soul, blues, gospel and so much more...and its just so easy going.

📢 BRING IT ON 📢

Takeaway pints on a park bench are great 'n all that, but I am so damn excited for pubs, bars, restaurants and clubs to reopen later this year 😍

I'm trying not to get ahead of myself because there's still so much that could go wrong, but.....
....it's impossible not to get swept up in the buzz when festivals are selling out in a matter of days, pub gardens are already fully booked throughout April and May, and live music is starting to creep back into the calendar.

Whenever it happens, I am SO ready 💌

🎞️ NEW PROJECT LIVE 🎞️

Charles Johnstone - Photographer & I have been working on a little website portfolio over the last few weeks.

While I don't class myself as a website designer, I do love everything that goes into making one - choosing a colour palette and the right images, building a visitor journey, writing descriptive copy and creating an online home for your business.

👟 WORKOUT TO WORK WELL 👟

A couple of weeks ago, we made the decision to invest in a load of home gym kit. And honestly? It's hands down the best purchase throughout the whole of this covid thing...and there have been a lot of purchases 😂

Not being able to do a decent workout was a major frustration for me throughout these lockdowns. For me, a workout is the only way I can set myself up properly for the day. Without one, I am less focussed and my productivity drops.

So the lesson here is....if it's broke, go and bloomin' fix it! If something is bugging you, and you have the ability to make the change, just do it. Switch it up, and find something that works better for you.

I have been putting this into practice a lot more recentely and have been loving the changes, big & small 💌

🐬 WOOD IS GOOD 🐬

Working on a little project for who took these awesome photos of my brother's bellyboard business in Cornwall.

Every board is hand-crafted using the exact same antique kit and time-tested production methods inherited from classic board-maker Dick Pearce.

Super cool watching take this heritage brand and giving it a new lease of life in the most creative of ways.

📆 MAKING MILESTONES 📆

Big milestone last week...I finished my first note pad as a freelancer 😂

It sounds small but every single note, plan, idea and call are handwritten into the same pad.

It's so funny flicking through from page one seeing how my business, priorities and clients have changed and developed over the past six months. It's a small encouraging nod to remind me of how far I've come since being furloughed back in March 2020.

Absolutely stoked to see what the next 6 months will bring...especially as the world starts to open up and my beloved events & hospitality friends and clients get back on track - eeek!

🧡 OLÈ 🧡

Did a little dance when this project pinged into my inbox...the wonderful people at asked me to pull together a landlord pack to showcase the place, which is one of my favourite things to do!

With .stylist's amazing pictures on file and a mega fun colour pallette to play with, I set to work over Christmas and here's the result (kind of...I had to jiggle the design and remove some bits to make it fit to the Instagram format but ya get the idea!).

Thank you for the project José, I love this place!
