What are the most popular social media worldwide in 2021 so far?

The most downloaded apps this year so far have been:
1. Tiktok
2. Facebook
3. Instagram
4.Whatsapp
5. Messenger.

Three things you should consider before investing in Influencer Marketing:

1. Consider micro and nano influencers for your campaigns! Apart from presenting a lower overall investment than, let's say, someone with millions of followers, micro and nano influencers have a much closer relationship with their audiences! Their community tends to be more loyal en more engaging than huge influencers.

2. Consider transforming influencers into Brand Ambassadors and work with them long-term. Think of possible agreements such as sponsorships or affiliation programs. It is a win-win situation, as the influencer will be able to dedicate to content creation, and the brand will gain much trust among their community. It is also an exercise of Branding, as your brand would inherit much of the values of the influencers (so choose wisely!).

3. Lights, Camera, Action! Video content is growing! Thanks to the rise of platforms such as TikTok and resources such as Instagram Reels, short video content is more popular than ever! Consider this medium when planning your campaign, as users tend to be more engaging and open to the format.

Watch how Heinz Ketchup took a bump on the road and transformed it into a great campaign on social media!

In the event of the Oscars 2020, Heinz Ketchup and the agency Rethink from Canada created an IMDb page listing the condiment as an actor in the various films it appeared. However, before they could advertise it, the page was taken down by the platform.

Instead of taking defeat, they turned the idea into a contest by asking fans to share their favorite Heinz appearances on social media with a chance to win free ketchup!

As a result, they increased engagement by 52x and their positive brand sentiment by 350%, driving way more traffic to their social media platforms than they would ever have with the original campaign!
