Here's food for thought: "reliability" is an overrated characteristic on new cars.

Who cares if a Honda lasts 500,000 miles? You won't tolerate driving a car with 500,000 miles on it. You won't even tolerate driving a car with 100,000 miles on it. That's why you're spending the extra money to buy a new new car right now instead of buying a much cheaper used one.

Planning means optimizing to what actually nets you the most benefit, not just overbuilding everything. Allocate resources where they will actually matter to you in reality. Don't plan for fantasy land.

I like bigtime opponents.

This week, hundreds of kids will get amped up.
Some wearing pads and some in the stands.

And starting about noon on Friday, they'll all start believing.
Believing that the Big Red H they wear means something.
They'll believe it means they can take on anyone.

And during the game they'll yell and scream.

Then come Saturday, they'll all forget.

But like all kids do...
One or two of them...
They'll skip that last step.
And they'll forget they're supposed to forget.

And they'll start a new life. From Saturday forward.

Because from that day forward, they'll be one of the big boys.
Because they're part of an institution that can take on anyone.
Because they wear the Big Red H.

I was one of the kids who forgot the last step.
