P.S. I love Drake - this is just a reminder that just because a brand may be your dream client, doesn't mean you have to give up an arm or a leg for them if they don't respect you as an expert.

And just because someone claims they're an “expert”, doesn't mean that they are.
Look at their work, their offerings, the benefits of working with a social media expert, and (most importantly) their values! Think, what problem are they solving for you?

A social media algorithm is a set of rules and signals that automatically ranks content on a social platform based on how LIKELY each individual social media user is to like it and INTERACT with it.

The trick here is that the algorithm of every SM platform is different. In order to succeed on a platform, you have to understand the functionality of it.

In order to succeed on these platforms and pivot your content strategy, you have to make them work for you not against you.

According to Hootsuite:

The IG algorithm cares about:

✨ Relevance
✨ Popularity

The TikTok algorithm cares about:
✨ Previous interactions
✨ Behavior on the discovery tab
✨ Location & language

3 things I would NEVER do on social media

✨ Post without a plan: Social media is a powerful tool for building relationships, but it’s not magic. When you post without a plan, you don’t know what you want to achieve and how your content will fit into your overall strategy. This can lead to wasted effort and frustration—especially if your posts aren’t getting the traction you expected.

✨ Take part in every trend at all costs: Social media is a fast-paced, competitive space. It’s easy to get swept up in the latest trend and feel like you have to participate at all costs. But if you don’t have something valuable to contribute—or if the trend doesn’t fit with your brand—you're better off staying out of it.

✨ Use all social media networks the same way: Each network has its own personality, user base and culture. It’s important to understand what makes each platform unique—and then tailor your approach accordingly.

As a social media manager, you're probably the backbone of your company's online presence—and yet all the hard work you do is often not valued as much as it should be.

You're the one who makes sure that people keep coming back to your brand and sharing their experiences with others.

You're the one who keeps the social media wheels turning, no matter what. You're responsible for setting the plan, organizing and managing content creation, customer care, community management and MORE.

LIFE UPDATE 💫

It's been a minute, and a lot has changed on a personal and professional note.

I have taken on new clients in industries that I wouldn't have imagined would be possible a year ago. I have learned and grown immensely, became even more entrepreneurial in my work, and showed up every day intending to build businesses through the power of social media.

I have also been working with prestigious companies and brands and connecting with some of the most intelligent experts I'm grateful to come across.

All I can say is, what a time to be alive. ✨

Since the last time I showed up on this account, life perpetually reminded me to slow down and take my health more seriously (although it's easier to prioritize everything else besides our own health/mental well-being). However, I'm making an effort towards showing up for myself first every day before I give myself to the world. I mean, I owe that to myself, to say the least!

I wanted to share some of my favorite Chrome extensions that help me as a Squarespace web designer.

Love me some time-saving tools that help me stay focused on what requires maximum time and energy.

I know you’re busy so I’ll summarize what each one does in one sentence (I’ll try my best!):

• Eye Dropper: My go-to for extracting and autosaving my favorite colors from webpages.

• Squarespace Collection/Block Identifier: Tired of digging through numerous codes to find your collection/block ids? Then dig no further, this tool saves you time with just one click.

• GoFull Page: Capture an entire webpage from a previous project you’ve worked on using this smart tool. Then, use some CSS to make it look pretty to showcase it on your website.

• Window Resizer: You need THIS to make sure the website you develop is responsive to the screen size of your choice.

• Hunter: THE tool that helps you find the exact email addresses behind any website you want. (Great to use when finding the right contacts for guest posting purposes 😉).

• Checkbot: Perfect for checking your website’s SEO, broken links, duplicate titles, invalid HTML/CSS, web speed, etc...

• Notion Web Clipper: I’m still getting the hang of Notion but I’m really loving how you can have everything organized in one place. The Web Clipper helps you save all the articles, research and inspiration you want there as well!
