I’m honestly tired of seeing people slate platforms like Wix, especially when it’s coming from people who sell custom built websites.

Of course it’s not the same as a fully bespoke site. But the price isn’t the same either and that’s kind of the point.

Not everyone is ready to spend thousands on a website.

Some people want to manage it themselves.
Some are still finding their feet.
Some are growing slowly and sensibly within their budget.

And that’s absolutely fine.

There is nothing wrong with a Wix website (or similar platforms).

If it does what you need it to do, works properly and supports your business where you’re at right now, it’s doing its job.

I work with clients who use Wix all the time.
My role is helping them make it look good, flow properly and function the way they actually need it to, without pushing them into spending money they don’t need to spend yet.

You get what you pay for and that’s not a dig.
It’s a choice.

Your website should work for you, your budget and your capacity — not someone else’s opinion or ego.

Build what makes sense now.
Upgrade when you’re ready.

Content days aren’t about “booking for the sake of booking” they’re about staying consistent.

One of the biggest reasons businesses struggle with social media isn’t a lack of ideas, it’s a lack of intentional time.

A content day doesn’t have to mean hiring a full production team (although it absolutely can). It can simply be:

A little win I’m finally allowing myself to talk about!

For over two years I’ve supported a local community organisation with their social media, and when needed volunteered in other areas to keep things moving. I’ve never felt so welcomed by a team, or so invested in the impact they create.

Earlier this year, they lost their Derbyshire County Council funding due to cuts.

Overnight, their entire staff budget and rent support disappeared. Their community space, the heart of their activities, bi-weekly luncheons, cultural workshops, support groups was suddenly at risk. And without a staff member dedicated to grant applications, their future looked incredibly uncertain.

So I stepped in.

Not as “Justjessvirtual the business”, but as a person who genuinely cares.
I volunteered my time, my knowledge and my grant writing experience.

And I’m so so proud to say,
I secured them 4 separate grants, totalling just over £24,000.

Some funding free school talks to support cultural education and Black History Month.

Most providing core funding, covering the essentials, securing their space for at least the next 12 months, and removing the constant fear of bills or closure.

Why am I sharing this?
Because we often forget to recognise the impact we make when we’re busy doing the work.

Today, I’m choosing to acknowledge it.
