The Pioneer Days carnival in 29 Palms, CA

This is a short little vid I did with about 24 hours of turnaround time. There's no drone work in those one, I just shot it at the carnival because I was there and it was pretty. I put some sound behind it and uploaded it to the local FB group so people could stop asking what the carnival was like. It looks like this:

I went back tonight. This is actually a still from a video, but I just really liked the way it looked on its own. This little patch of green where humanity has staked our tiny little claim, and beyond, hundreds of miles of beautiful but empty(ish) desert. Like a carnival in some future Mars colony.

The beautifiul light show is courtesy of carnival company Paul Maurer Shows, who put on a great event with lots of fun rides for all ages. If you're reading this in 29 Palms or nearby, they're here through Sunday Oct 22 you should go it's a good time.

The Carnival came to town for Pioneer Days

It's not often cloudy in the desert, so I could not pass up the opportunity to take the drone out to Gold Park, the area east of Utah trail and just south of the entrance to Joshua Tree National Parrk. So named because of all the gold mines that have dotted the area since 1849. The city is of course 29 Palms, CA.
