One of the biggest pain points I’m hearing from salon owners today is about recruitment. It’s more than just putting out a we’re hiring post. It’s about building a brand that attracts the type of team members that you actually want to work at your salon. Not just anyone who needs a job.
I’ve been in the beauty industry since 2013 but before that I was a recruiter in higher education for 8 years. One of the things I loved most about recruiting was getting to connect with people and helping them identify their goals and dreams. If their goals and dreams aligned with the university I was representing then it was a perfect match. But if it didn’t then it was better for them to be somewhere else.
Another thing I loved was getting to work with the marketing department to design the right marketing collateral and building the online brand in such a way that made the prospective students say I want to be there and I can totally see myself there.
When you build a brand that showcases who you really are, your team, your values, how you value education, and what you care about, you start attracting the right team members and the right clients too.✨
Top-tier stylists aren’t looking for just any salon to work at. They’re looking for a home where they can grow and thrive. When who you are as a brand is really seen online they will be coming to you even when you aren’t actively hiring. 🥂💎
