To celebrate the kick-off of Women's History Month, I wanted to highlight Jean Wade Rindlaub.
During WW2 women took over men's jobs while they were away fighting. This kept the country moving forward as much as it could until the war was over. However, when the men came a lot of women wanted to continue working.
Jean took the opportunity to break into the male dominated marketing field to become one of the first female marketers. She is considered a real life Peggy Olsen (woman market on Mad Men). While she mainly handled companies that produced women-inspired products (food products, feminine hygiene products, fashion, etc.), she still helped pave the way for future women marketers.
Today, let's recognize and give thanks to those who came before us. Tomorrow we'll continue paving the road for the next generation.
