People have different reasons for their quest to lose weight, most of the time, it’s because of HEALTH REASONS like lowering their cholesterol levels, some is to build strength and energy so as to be able to perform activities they love or just to be able to play with their kids/grandkids, for some, it’s just about fitting in those smaller size clothes that they can’t fit into anymore. To get the required results, some start to take medication but can’t continue because of the side effects, some move from one diet to another and then give up because it’s not working ( there is no best diet that works for everyone all the time). For a (diet) plan to work and be sustainable, so many things about the individual’s life have to be taken into consideration like their culture (food), work, social life, health history, preferences and personal /private life and much more because when a nutrition /fitness plan is drawn around your life, then there is a possibility of getting the required results. The problem with most “salads” is they do not have enough calories to satisfy the body for a long period of time. The veggies and the lean meat you add can still not be enough food for you. Add a healthy fat such as avocado or ÂŒ cup of nuts to your salad and that can make all the difference in the world.

5 SIMPLE STEPS FOR WEIGHT LOSS SUCCESS:
Losing weight can be hard, but it should not be complicated. If you have tried different strategies that have not worked well, then follow these 5 simple steps for the next 8 to 12 weeks and see the change. There is no magic pill, no crazy dieting and remember, CONSISTENCY is the way. Just start here:
(1) EAT PROTEIN EVERY SINGLE MEAL: Building each meal, snacks included, around protein. It helps you feel full so you’re less likely to turn to last minute impulse eating decisions. Protein also burns more calories during digestion than anything else!
(2) BE AWARE OF LIQUID CALORIES: Soft drinks, juice, sports drinks, alcohol and creamers are the most common calorie busters in liquid form. These drinks quickly add to your total calorie consumption.
(3) BE ACTIVE: Move as often as you can. That doesn’t necessarily mean making it to the gym 5x per week. It can be simple, like walking the dog, cleaning the house, or park the car around the block or side street. These are all great forms of exercise too!
(4) SLEEP: Your body needs sleep to recover, ingrain the new movements/lessons learnt that day and rebuild. Try to be consistent with the times you go to bed and wake up.
(5) PLAN YOUR MEALS: When you’re hungry and haven’t got your meal planned you will likely end up grabbing something that doesn’t suit your goals.
Focus on these five things and you’ll be creating great habits that steer you towards weight loss success!

I get so many people tell me everyday stuff like,
‘ I workout / exercise everyday or 6 times a week but I don’t lose weight, why?’
The answer is simple, YOU CANNOT OUT EXERCISE A BAD DIET. Exercise is very important with a lot of health benefits and more to that, it helps define and tone the body but if you are serious about losing weight, then you need to watch your diet, focus on being on a caloric deficit and you will start to see results. ( You can be on a caloric deficit and still eat the foods you enjoy 😊).
