Hi Plant Hustlers .... Factory activity at Holme Farm has plateaued & we seem to have settled into a comfortable routine with our customers. Working at 30% of our previous capacity looks like being the new norm until Christmas lines kick in about Mid November. This mirrors the sales of our major customers when compared to life before lockdown. So this is it. [ 95 more words ]

Hi Plant Lovers .....This week was the first time the factory broke even in the 12 weeks since since lockdown. The focus is now to remain at this equilibrium & try & better the position. It is hard work at the moment as customers are cautious & only retailing limited product lines. We are only using 7 key vegetables for the majority of our current orders. [ 95 more words ]

Hi Plant Fans .......A whole week has flown by without posting an update. Working at Holme Farm is like riding a rollercoaster at the moment. Orders go up, then down, drop off , then re list . Who needs Ingoldmells !! It takes focus to follow all the twists & turns of customer updates & amends. Unfortunately although orders are increasing they are inching not leaping forward. Hi Plant Hustlers ......New week - yet again. From 1st July we can ask colleagues to return on a part time basis whilst remaining on furlough for non work days. This will give those working throughout lockdown some much needed R&R as their holidays will be covered by part time employees. We are coming close to signing off several new lines for August/September launches . Chipotle sweet potato fries / BBQ soy ‘chicken’ pieces & Seasonal salad. Healthy Vegan Fast Food. 🧑🏽‍🍳

Hi Plant Fans .....Indian themes in the kitchen today. Bombay potatoes, Onion Bhaji & Root Bhaji. Deep fried & baked. We also finalised our summer salads due to launch in August. A mix of roasted vegetables & fresh salad ingredients. Tasty. The factory experienced a surge in orders & relists . Customers are preparing themselves for cafe & restaurant re openings next weekend. Hi Plant Hustlers ......Mid summer. The longest day. And Father’s Day. Where has the year gone ? At Holme Farm we feel impatient to go back to full production but returning to pre co-vid levels is achingly slow. It will not be until restaurants & cafes reopen that our orders will significantly improve. Order forecasts show that our customers are looking at September to reintroduce all delisted lines. Hi Plant Fans ..... This week we welcome back further members of the team as factory orders increase. The emphasis is on keeping the site & colleagues safe & secure with all gates locked & cameras monitoring entrances & exits. The attention we lavished on the Farm is now paying dividends. It looks clean, tidy & colourful with the numerous hanging baskets producing magnificent blooms. I found a perfectly camouflaged moth nestling among the foliage in one basket.

Hi Plant Lovers ......TGIF ! A busy week for the factory. Production has increased this week as the order book fills up again. We also stepped up our Co-vid 19 safe guarding today ready for the return to work of two more members of the team on Monday. Now regular deliveries on European vehicles have resumed we ensure that drivers temperatures are taken on arrival to the site & rest room facilities are specific to visitors. [ 49 more words ]

Hello Again Plant Fans .... Its another afternoon of sweet treats at Holme Farm. Quite a departure from our usual NPD products. Coconut & cacao Energy Balls & Candied Clementine segments & peel. It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas !! 🤣😳 Our latest Repatriated member of the team is easing himself back into work after 4 months away. He was on Paternity Leave when the factory went into lockdown. [ 36 more words ]

Hello Plant Hustlers .....A bittersweet announcement today. The Sweet - Factory orders continue to increase. We welcome another member of staff back today. Followed by a further two next week. Nothing like the old days but it’s a start. The Bitter - due to the increase in factory orders we have less time to run the veg box business. Coupled with life returning to the new normal for many shoppers & several really good dedicated produce companies offering a great delivery service we have decided to close our box scheme .
