If there’s one thing you could do to increase your sales this year, it would be to embrace live video. And not only “embrace” it but do it as if the success of your business depends on it. I used to say it was a “bonus” if you could get comfortable on live video but now, I ensure that all my clients are open to doing live video on a consistent basis (in fact, I hand all my new clients a checklist of the exact videos we need).⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Why? Because without video it’s nearly impossible to compete as an online coach, consultant or personality-based business. ⠀

But you know who does notice? Facebook™. Yep! In fact, we’ve done some recent experiments and noticed that running ads from pages that are posting/active at least once per day and have LOTS of engagement see their ads costs reduced by as much as 88%. 88%!!!!! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

So simply do not underestimate just HOW important it is to post to your page daily. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

WHY WE IGNORE ADS (and the decline of the effective ad)

The main problem with “ads” these days?

Take, take, take…

They just want an opt-in of some sort AND there’s rarely follow-up (or if there IS follow-up they’re spamming you with things you don’t care about).

Then you get retargeting with another ad of “look at my shiny stuff!” (that you don’t really care about).

We all know what it feels like to be on the receiving end of that: Ew!

But if you’ve watched any number of trainings for marketing, it can be confusing because that’s the GOLDEN rule, right?!

✅ Give the lead magnet/freebie!
✅ Get the email!
Make 💰!

This WORKS they say! (Maybe in 2016? When ads were cheap and you could advertise anything and make a win?).

The vast majority of email marketing campaigns TAKE from their potential customers and don’t give back (they SAY they're giving with a generous lead magnet, but c'mon. We know the purpose).

Newsflash:
Nobody cares about your stuff.
Nobody is even that impressed with your lead magnet (unless it REALLY speaks to them).

What MATTERS is:

The relationship you build with people.
How OFTEN you show up for them.

The problem with ad campaigns is they’re not designed with the customer journey in mind.

They are aggressive and try to push you through a funnel you may not care about.
They’re not designed to BUILD relationships.
They’re designed to make a quick sale.

The good news?

The Facebook™ advertising platform makes it REALLY easy to run “Ads that don’t FEEL like ads."

To run ads that provide VALUE and build relationships without asking for anything in return until your customer comes to you (and then it’s THEIR idea).

If there’s ONE shift you’ll make this year, make it more relationship-building campaigns.

Make a lot of videos. Write a lot of posts. Let people into your life. (Then make those retargeting "ads").

Trust that THIS will be far more effective at helping with sales than anything else.

It’s the first day of Fall!

I love the summertime. It’s a great time to relax, take a break and spend time with family. And that’s what I did when I took some time off this summer.

This summer, I got to spend a lot of time with my family, including family that I hadn’t seen a while. I also did some camping and visited the beach.

But I also did a lot of thinking this summer and I reflected on my business, where I was going and where I wanted to go. And so, I decided to invest in myself and my business.

I took a leap.

I wanted to go deeper with my knowledge and learn how to serve my clients better.

During this process, I took a deep look at my “why.” Why did I start this business?

It’s not just about ads and really good strategy that I love. Even though these are crucial ingredients!

And it's not just about my personal goals and dreams, which for me, has everything to do with my family.

Behind this business is a woman who is on a mission to be an entrepreneur that helps other entrepreneurs and business owners get more leads, clients, and sales.

Because when entrepreneurs and business owners have the right marketing ingredients to succeed in their business, that means they can pursue their goals and dreams too.

So what is your “why?” How will you get there?

Fall is the changing of the season, and change can bring GOOD things.

I've been exploring how I can use this space to provide better, more helpful content. And I’m also excited to say my website has a whole new look! (Check it out and let me know what you think?).
