Time to say good bye to this chapter…

It feels a little bittersweet to share this.

This page has been a home for so many love stories, illustrated invitations, and meaningful moments. Being part of your weddings has been a true privilege, and I will always treasure it.

Over time, my work has naturally shifted. I’m now focusing on illustration and design for nature lovers and mindful, purpose-led businesses. Over the past year or so I’ve been creating visuals rooted in story, symbolism, and a slower, more considered pace. And I know this is where my heart and passion truly lies.

For anyone still planning a wedding, my Complete Wedding Invitation Wording and Etiquette Handbook is still available at my Etsy shop and you can use INVITE10 for 10% off as a thank you to my wonderful followers.

I’m not sure how much longer I’ll keep this page instagram open, so if you’d like to continue following my work, I’d love to see you over at , my website, or by signing up to my newsletter (all links in bio).

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to all the couples and wedding suppliers for being part of this chapter with me. I’ve made so many friends along the way.

I’d love to keep in touch and continue sharing my work and studio updates with you.

Much love Simone x

Please read, I need your help!

A few months ago as part of a brief I entered a competition to design some posters.

To my great excitement I have got shortlisted 🎉. Now this is where I need your help. Please can you Vote for my prints (link in bio) and help my dream come true to become a artist.

I’d love nothing more than to bring joy and warmth to someone’s home and have so many ideas for future prints.

To VOTE please follow the link in the bio and comment ‘Simone Carr’ in the box.

Thank you everyone, without my cheerleaders on here I would never have been brave enough to put myself out there.

INSPIRATION BEHIND THE COLLECTION

The inspiration behind my herb collection was to create simple, delicate pieces that could be viewed as a whole collection or enjoyed as a single piece. I want the prints to be not only a beautiful wall hanging but educate the viewer on the scents and flavours that a herb could add to your favourite dish.

Each colour was selected to reflection the characteristics of each herb, but also bringing a calming, warmth to someone’s home. Imaging this collections could sit comfortably in both a country house or equally in a city apartment.

Spring inspiration…

I realise it has really been a while since I posted here on my wedding feed but whilst looking through my files I discovered this beautiful spring/summer shoot that I’ve not yet shared here.

It is certainly way too pretty to stay hidden, so I hope you enjoy some bank holiday inspiration. The cascading hanging florals rea really something you should not miss.

Taking Summer Slow ~

It may look to many of you on here that I’ve taken the whole year slow with my sporadic Instagram usage. In reality life has been quite the opposite, the studio has been buzzing with creativity. Working with some beautiful couples to capture their day in paper.

I’ve also had the honour to be working with the NHS, Nottingham Hospital Charity and the Arts Council on an exciting Arts project, what has been such a joy to give back to the community, amazing staff and patients.

My daughters also finished primary school what has been more emotional than I ever expected. So with this I’ve decided to take the Summer Slow and my studio is now closed to new enquires until September. Time to soak up (literally with this rain) some time with my family. Revive my creativity, enjoy time for sketching just for myself. Time with family and friends is why I chose to start Ellie and Liv and now it’s time to embrace this flexibility.

All couples and clients I’m currently working with are in hand and to anyone who would love to work with me I look forward to hearing your stories and summer adventures in September.

Wish you all some lazy, hazy Summer days 🤍

I’m at it again and trying another drawing challenge. This year I decided to learn some new skills and the one I’ve fallen in love with is pattern design.

It’s proving the perfect way to start combining my love for flowers, floriography and heritage design. It’s opening my eyes to new skills lots of areas and getting me to explore lots of new challenges. There are parts that are really changing the way I need to thing about design. For years of graphic design it has been about straight lines, and typographic rules. Now it’s about repeats and entwining.

So I thought I would take you a long for the ride on this one.
~

For those wondering where has the stationery gone, don’t panic I’m still working on many beautiful designs but until they reach the hands of my couples guests I do not want to share too much. So normal service will resume shortly. So for now I’m sharing a few of my passions.

Day 5 ~ floral challenge

A new flower for me Scarlet Sage. Associated with passion and adoration. Romance, desire and young love.

Would you ever consider a bright scarlet bloom for your wedding?

I’m currently taking part in a little floral art challenge and seeing as my posting has been a little sporadic of late I thought maybe I should share a few.

Today was Freesia, a symbolism of friendship and a flower often given on your 7th anniversary.

I will post some delicious wedding stationery again soon. I have some gorgeous sets to share but I live in a dark house where I struggle to shoot if the days aren’t bright. Come on spring/summer I need to get photographing.

A Friday night musing practicing my sketching. Today it is the Peony. Not long until this sort after flower season is upon us. Well that is if the British weather ever blesses us with some heat. How can I still be wrapped in a blanket when it’s nearly May!? I’m freezing.

The more I’ve started drawing again these last three years the more my passion has grown for it. And I’m constantly working on my style and techniques. Delving back to school in drawing and colour theory.

Many ideas of where I can use these designs enter my head and I hope to soon expand on some of these. I’d love to know your thoughts, if and where you would like to see some of my florals and designs.

I’ve been having a few exciting chats about some future possibilities and projects. At the minute it is just chats but just maybe one of my goals may come true 🤞.

Wishing you all a happy Friday and long weekend.

Welcoming Spring ~

I may be a few days behind as we celebrate the Spring Equinox but todays sunshine is finally making me feel ready for the new season.

I find each season brings new inspiration, the colours, textures and of course new growth. It resets us all for the year ahead.

This year I’m taking a much more mindful approach to my business. Investing my time in learning new skills that will enhance your beautiful wedding stationery (and hopefully new adventures in the future).

I’m taking less projects on so I can really focus on the couples who choose to work with me. Giving them a quality of service and attention they seek. With textures and details captured in a way that will make your heart sing.

In turn I am projecting myself more from overwhelm, enjoying the discovery of daily meditation, journalling and returning to one of my greatest loves yoga.

There is so much hustle and rush these days, where we are just overwhelmed by information. I’d like to invite you to take a moment, a deep breath and step into Spring feeling refreshed.

My sweet Valentines ~

Did you know that Valentines wasn’t originally associated with love. February 14th was know for the beginning of Spring and when birds would find their mate. In Sussex’s know as Bird Wedding Day.

Trying to pick up the sketchbook again I doodled some Starlings last night. A interesting pair where both the male and female are know to build their nests together.

Valentines can be a funny one and I admit not an occasion we personally go mad for. Though my daughters would vastly disagree and cooked up a feast this morning.

Whatever your plans have a lovely day and sending love to you all 🤍.

I’m so grateful to have some beautiful enquiries this past week, but it’s breaking my heart that I’m having to turn some couples away who I would love to design their stationery for.

Every time you tell me your stories and describe your wedding I instantly get visions of what I could create to welcome your guests to your special day.

Designing bespoke wedding stationery can take between 6-10 weeks. Semi-custom 4-6 weeks.

My whole ethos is to create mindful and kind stationery and this process can not be rushed. I hand select papers that create a tactile feel that encapsulates the feel of your day. Colours and florals are hand drawn and painted. Fonts chosen especially for you. Creating stationery that is a joy, a gift for your wedding guests. Not just a simple piece of paper.

If you wish to have beautiful stationery to send to your loved ones I’ve created this little wedding stationery planning chart for you. Please save and share so you can refer to it when you need it. 🤍 🌿.

Last night I had the great pleasure of sitting alongside some amazing finalists in the Sustainable Wedding Awards hosted by Sustainable Wedding Alliance]

Hearing so many inspirational stories from passionate wedding suppliers that want to change the future of weddings for the better was such a privilege. It is great to see that so many are working towards the same goal.

Sadly this year was not mine to take away an award but I’m truly grateful to be a finalist for both the ‘Sustainable by Design’ award and the Sustainable Supply Chain’.

Over the last few years I have worked hard behind the scenes to make sure I can make everything as ethical and sustainable for my couples without ever compromising on quality or beauty. And I can tell you I’m extremely picky when it comes to quality checks. I am also working towards being accredited by the Sustainable Wedding Alliance] making me accountable for my promises to you.

Congratulations to all the winners last night you blew me away. 🌿
