In today's news...

The “Tin Can” is basically a rebranded landline, a concept we all abandoned, now positioned as the solution to a modern problem (kids + screens). And it’s working. Big time. The product has taken off with parents specifically because it removes internet access and limits communication to approved contacts.

As a parent? I absolutely love it. Keep kids on 'dumb' phones as long as possible and help limit possible harm that can come from kids having an all-access pass to the internet and people (and vice-versa).

As a marketing professional? Brilliant.

👉 Take something familiar
👉 Attach it to a current pain point
👉 Package it with the right narrative

Suddenly, it feels new again. It's a great reminder that branding isn’t about inventing something new. It’s about making people see something old, differently.

Anyway… call it innovation, call it nostalgia, call it whatever you want, I’m just over here fully on board!

This simple home phone for kids is evoking nostalgia in millennial parents while giving them a choice beyond the smart device.

Not directly work-related, but I do it for work tasks as well:

I’ve started outsourcing my thinking to my Reminders app—and honestly, it’s kind of saving me.
I’ve set up repeat reminders for all the little household tasks I will absolutely lose track of unless I write them down. They pop up at 9 AM on their assigned days, I check them off, and they quietly reset for next time. No mental load. No second-guessing.
Here’s an example of what that looks like:
🧺 Every Monday: wash sheets and towels
🧸 Every other Tuesday: toy rotation
🌀 Once a month: vacuum the dryer lint trap
🔥 Every few months: check smoke detector batteries
Nothing fancy—just one less thing to hold in my head while running a business and raising a toddler.

Highly recommend if your brain’s feeling a little full lately. 🧠✅

I’m seeing how this strategy goes and then plan to implement it more at t work as well, hopefully!
