Instagram algorithms in a nutshell.
I don’t know how you feel but sometimes I miss the first years of Instagram where users were more discoverable and quality always beat quantity. Yep, there were no selfies 6 times a day bombarding your feed 🤭.
However, things have changed after Instagram took over the world and left us confused with its newest algorithm.
So how does it work? As you may have noticed, it relies on 3 things: interaction frequency with specific accounts, interest in post type and recency of the post.
What does it mean for you? In the Instagram world, leaving comments, resharing posts and communicating over DM means a close relationship and this means that concentrating and investing in your community engagement is key.
Also, if users engaged in certain posts in the past like yours, they will also see your posts in the future. So make sure to follow the analytics and see which hashtags worked the best for you, provide relevant, fresh content and give variations of your top quality content that worked with success in the past.
Recent posts are pushed to the top. It makes sense to post when you want to be seen, meaning that you should post when your target audience is online. You can find this information again in the native analytics.
By posting consistently, knowing what your audience likes and following what works well for you, you can build a relationship with your current audience and be „explored‘ by potential customers.
I hope this helps! Happy Wednesday!
