We helped a Staffordshire family turn confusion into clarity. We listened, documented steps clearly, and worked with the school to agree practical adjustments for their child’s EHCP. The joint plan and calm, practical guidance made the process smoother and faster. If you’re in the West Midlands and need clear support, we can help you too. I wrote about simple changes that make big differences for children with ADHD. Small steps — clearer seating, purposeful displays, quieter transitions and short visual instructions — help pupils pay attention, feel calmer and take part more easily.

Before asking a child to change, look at the room. Is it noisy? Are displays overwhelming? Could seating reduce distractions? These checks are practical, fair and evidence-informed.

If you support a child at home or school in the West Midlands or nearby, use these ideas to protect attention and boost learning. Read the full post and share with colleagues or parents who’d find it useful: https://wix.to/btkgCA0

How could one small classroom change help a child you know? Let’s talk. 👇🙂

For children with ADHD, the classroom environment is not just a backdrop to learning it can directly affect attention, listening, wellbeing and participation. I’m sharing practical guidance to help you show when a child needs support above Ordinary Available Provision (OAP). Use clear, specific evidence: what was tried, who delivered it, how often, the impact, and why school resources alone aren’t enough.

Key evidence to gather: assess–plan–do–review records, provision maps that flag above‑OAP support, progress data, observation notes, parent and child voice, and specific external professional advice. Strong examples say exactly what happened (frequency, staff, outcomes), not just that “interventions ran.”

If you’re a parent, teacher or SEND lead in the Midlands, this checklist can make EHCP requests clearer and stronger. Read the full guide and use the examples to build robust evidence. Let’s make inclusion practical and fair. Click to read more and share with colleagues and parents. 💬📘

When schools, parents and professionals are considering whether a child may need an Education, Health and Care Plan, one of the most important questions is:Is the child’s need being met through the school’s Ordinary Available Provision, or are they requiring provision that is additional to and d...

We help parents and SENCOs cut through communication breakdowns with a simple, proven template you can use today. Use clear requests, set timelines, and state the child’s needs linked to EHCP steps. I’ll show negotiation lines that reduce delays and keep everyone accountable. Parents and schools in Wolverhampton, Shareshill and the West Midlands: try this approach and share your experience. Preparing for an SEN or EHCP meeting? We’ve got a calm, simple checklist and phrasing to help you feel ready and confident. 🌟

What to bring: recent school reports, therapy notes, attendance records, examples of work, and any professional assessments. These documents show the full picture.

What to say: “My child does best with…”, “We’ve noticed challenges with…”, “Can we agree on measurable steps and a review date?” These lines have helped other parents get clear actions.

How we help: we coach you on what to say, role-play the meeting, and prepare a concise summary to share with the school. Families tell us this reduces anxiety and leads to clearer outcomes for their child.

You don’t have to do this alone. Book support and find resources at https://wix.to/c1S29iI 🌈

We’re sharing simple classroom changes schools in the West Midlands are using to reduce sensory overload and help children focus. One easy step: create a low-stim corner with soft lighting and limited displays. It aligns with EHCP aims and SEN best practice by offering predictable, calm space for regulated learning. Teachers report fewer disruptions and clearer assessment results; parents notice calmer homework time. Want the full guide and examples? Visit https://wix.to/S6LBVjJ 🌟📘

I tried a short Zones of Regulation training and I saw how simple changes can help pupils find their calm. This approach gives children words for feelings, visual prompts to self-check and clear strategies they can use in class. Teachers felt more confident and found it practical to use in mainstream settings.

If you’re a parent or school staff in the Midlands looking for straightforward, neuro-affirming tools, this evidence-backed approach could fit into your classroom routines. Read the full post to see the study findings and practical tips — and share with colleagues who might find it useful.

Let’s make classrooms calmer and more inclusive together. 🧩🌈

Öhlböck et al. (2024) explored whether training mainstream primary teachers in the Zones of Regulation could improve their confidence in supporting autistic pupils with self-regulation needs. The study involved teachers working in mainstream primary classrooms where at least one autistic pupil had ...

I believe outdoor learning can change how children with SEND experience school. When it’s planned with inclusion in mind, the outdoors gives movement, sensory support and real-world chances to show what they can do.

Think visual instructions, quiet routes, flexible grouping and alternative ways to record learning. Talk to families and plan transitions so every child can join in and belong.

If you work with neurodivergent children in the Midlands — schools or parents — start by asking: are our outdoor sessions accessible to everyone? Small adjustments can make a big difference.

For many children with special educational needs and disabilities, the classroom can be a busy, demanding and sometimes overwhelming place. Noise, transitions, sitting still, written tasks, social expectations and sensory overload can all become barriers to learning. But what happens when learning m...
