I’m in the middle of a photography course right now, and I’m learning SO much about what actually goes into creating a photo… not just taking one.
Light. Secondary light. Aperture. Shutter speed. ISO. Depth of field. Where I place my subject. Where I stand. How far my subject is from the background. And probably my biggest lesson so far… learning to slow down and be intentional before I ever click the shutter. 📸
And because apparently taking a photography class also means convincing yourself you need a new lens 😂… my new 85mm arrived today!
A new lens doesn’t take a great picture for you, but when you start understanding how to use your camera, the right lens can definitely help elevate what you’re creating.
Thankfully, Conner let me practice on him tonight, so I could put some of those new lessons to work. And ohhhh, I am loving this lens already. 😍
Still learning. Still practicing. But I can already see the difference and that makes me excited to keep going.
