29/06/2023
Today, June 29, 2023, marks the beginning of Eid-al Adha. This celebration is one of the two blessed Eids celebrated by Muslims in order to commemorate the great sacrifices made by Prophet Ibrahim to signify his devotion to Allah, and honor the end of the pilgrimage to Mecca.
The celebration lasts for three days wherein the sacrifice of livestock, including sheep, goats, and cows, takes place as an offer of sacrifice. This is otherwise known as Qurbani. The portion of this meat then goes to Muslim brothers and sisters in need. On this blessed occasion, may your utter benevolence be accepted and your prayers be unanswered.
May this celebration remind us to open our kind hearts and help those in need in order to portray the spirit of compassion and selflessness that Eid al-Adha aims to instill in us.
Eid-Ul-Adha Mubarak to all BGDC family! ๐
