Grundy Area PADS

We would like to give a HUGE thank you to the amazing group of teens from the Grundy County 4-H Federation 💚 for their generous donation of cleaning supplies 🧼🧹 and other essential items 🏠. They took the initiative to gather supplies that will directly support our Grundy County residents who are facing homelessness as they transition into new homes.

These items help make those first days in a new space a little easier, more comfortable, and full of hope 💙. We are so grateful for the thoughtfulness, leadership, and community spirit shown by our community’s youth 🌟. Your efforts will truly make a difference!

The Red Kettle Campaign 2025 is coming soon — and look what just arrived!

We now have a Tap to Give feature, making it even easier to support the kettle campaign.

Bell ringing starts Thanksgiving weekend and continues through December 23. Our goal this year is to raise $30,000, with 90% of funds staying right here in Grundy County to help our neighbors with rent, mortgage, and utility assistance.

This fund is a vital part of the work we do — and the need is great this year. We’ve seen a steady rise in requests from people struggling with rent and at risk of homelessness, and our food pantry is serving nearly twice as many households as last year. We have new people coming through our doors for food nearly every single day. With the federal government shut down, we’re also watching closely in case SNAP benefits are suspended, which could bring even more families to our door.

Ways you can help:
– Host a food drive for nonperishable items, diapers, toilet paper, soup, shampoo, laundry detergent, and other essentials. We also need plastic grocery bags for the food pantry and for our weekend backpack program.
– Volunteer as a bell ringer for the Red Kettle Campaign — sign up at volunteergrundy.com
– Or simply give when you see our bell ringers out this year.

Every bit of help makes a difference right here in Grundy County. ❤️

It's bell-ringing sign-up time!!

Look what just arrived! Some shiny new bells for bell ringing!! Hard to believe this is just around the corner.

We have the Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign 2026 online signup available at volunteergrundy.com for those interested in ringing this year. Bell Ringing will take place at Jewel and Walmart in Morris from November 30th to December 23rd.

The Rhythm & BBQ Festival committee met during the Morris City Council meeting Monday to donate $20,000 in proceeds from its Saturday, June 21 festival to Illinois Valley Industries.
