Every December, the bell comes out.

We ring to add a little warmth to the season.
We ring to say “Merry Christmas.”
And we ring to raise funds to help our neighbors in need.

The money raised through the Red Kettle helps We Care provide emergency assistance to Grundy County neighbors who are struggling with rent, utilities and other basic needs.

That’s what the Red Kettle is all about.

We’re looking for volunteers to help us keep this tradition going. Come spend a couple of hours ringing the kettle this Christmas. Bring a friend. Bring the family. Enjoy a little Christmas cheer and help put some money in the kettle for your neighbors who could use it.

Join IVI at Echo Bowling Lanes in Morris on Saturday, October 31st from 12-2PM for our Dignity in Pay Community Bowling Event!

This is an all-ages, community event.

Costumes are encouraged but not mandatory.

Cost payable to Echo Lanes: $80 per group of 4 people

For $80, your group of 4 people will get:
1 game of bowling each, with shoe rental
1 pizza per group
1 pitcher of pop per group

Representatives from IVI will also be onsite with information about Dignity in Pay, the grant that made this event possible, IVI programs, and the benefits of an inclusive workforce.

We Care is hosting a Grief Support Group for those navigating loss.

Grief doesn’t follow a schedule, and there’s no single “right” way to grieve. This group offers a safe, supportive place to talk, listen, and walk through it with others.

The group is facilitated by Kathy Cherven, RN, LCPC, who has 41 years of nursing experience and more than 25 years dedicated to loss and grief counseling. She holds a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Lewis University.

Join us this Sunday, October 11h, at 4pm for our monthly PFLAG Support Meeting. Our guest speaker will be Aiden Vasquez, who will also be joining by Zoom. Aiden is a transgender man, advocate, and mentor. He was a named plaintiff in a major Iowa court case involving Medicaid coverage for gender-affirming care. After years of legal action, Iowa stopped enforcing the rule that blocked this care and agreed to cover medically necessary treatment for the people involved in the case. Aiden will share parts of his personal story, his advocacy work, and what he has learned from supporting transgender people and their families.

These meetings are free and membership is not required. See you Sunday! 🌈🌟
