WE ARE a technology service provider based in the UK, we engage with our clients at any stage in their product engineering and innovation goals, with solutions being mainly collaborative and outcome driven.

We are a young energetic and dynamically agile company and the team behind us are software industry veterans. WE BUILD
The project delivers industry-leading research and analysis on global energy commodity and macro markets. The data is presented to clients in the form of reports, data sets and news alerts, which are delivered via web platform. The technology team is delivering multiple projects, including a new data platform, a specialized oil tracking application, and a new infrastructure and platform approach. Making many improvements to the existing systems to better support the company. Focus is on Typescript, Node JS, NextJs, React, and serverless deployments.

BEING PART OF THE TEAM (Responsibilities)
• Scaling our existing data processes, focusing on quality every step of the way;
• Provide guidance on technology, library and tooling choices to the team, wary of things like scope creep, over-engineering and ‘skipping unit tests for now’;
• Solving business problems whilst avoiding technical complexity;
• Collaborating with our teams consisting of data scientists and machine learning engineers, UX specialists, product specialists, and SREs;
• Automating data analysts scripts, re-architecting data infrastructure;
• Working with data analysts to productize code, jobs/scripts ingestion;
• Scrapping data from multiple sources and loading them into a time-series database.

POWER YOU BRING (Qualifications)
• English language, both written and spoken, good enough to freely communicate with the foreign teams and clients on a daily basis;
• Very good Cloud awareness (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud);
• Solid skills with ECS/Fargate, API Gateway, Lambda, RDS (read replication, load balancing);

BEING PART OF THE TEAM (Responsibilities)
• Take part in daily standups;
• Go through the project board to evaluate the work to be done;
• Discuss the best implementation with other developers;
• Evaluate where and how to refactor or improve the existing code;
• Implement the stories with a good test coverage;
• Review other developers code;
• Collaborate with the QA Engineers to test the stories;
• Release your code in production;
• Collaborate with the team to design elegant and efficient database schemas;
• Collaborate with the team to design elegant API contracts;

POWER YOU BRING (Qualifications)
• 4+ years of commercial experience in PHP and Backend Development;
• Proven track record of PHP 7 development with a strong knowledge base of OOP principles and working Object Oriented development experience, design patterns;
• Experience working with Symfony3;
• MySQL and PostgreSQL – database design and optimization, report generation;
• Front end development skills (HTML5, CSS, basic knowledge of Javascript);
• Knowledge and experience with RESTful services (3rd party API services);
• Ability to write unit tests (PHPUnit) and work within a TDD environment;
• Experience with queues (RabbitMQ)
• NoSQL databases (Redis);
