I just had a profound realization.

In my everyday journey to improve myself, I sometimes overlook the actions of others that demonstrate their kindness and pure intentions.

Could this be why people often become defensive? Perhaps we're all strenuously striving to be better human beings, and when someone questions our motives, or if we're under the impression they are, it agitates us. After all, eradicating negative thoughts and behaviors is challenging task!

My intense concentration can sometimes obstruct my ability to perceive and appreciate how others are maneuvering through their own lives. I've understood that often my viewpoint is narrowed by my personal experiences.

Reprioritizing my values has become paramount. I've made it a priority to find ways to be beneficial and supportive, not just to those close to me, but also to those in need. Performing good deeds for others is a sincere way to express gratitude to those who have had a positive influence on my life.

But now, I've come to see another path. The other way to be a good human is to acknowledge, not judge, that other people are likewise grappling with the real-life challenge of being a good person. Italian demands we think more with grace Thinking in grace versus judging in frustration.
