Summer isn't exposing your failures.

It's exposing your beliefs.

It's easy to fall into the trap of thinking the 6 weeks holiday are the stressful part, but it actually summer shines a light on what has been there all year.
The guilt.
The pressure.
The mental load.

Self First Summer isn't about becoming a perfect mum or having the perfect summer.

It's about remembering you're a person too.

That is exactly what we are creating in Self First Summer starting on 29th June.
DM SUMMER to be part of it.

She thought she hated Mondays.

Turns out she hated having 847 tabs open in her brain before breakfast.
When my client Nic & I started working together she felt weighed down by everything.

Responsibilities.
Tasks.
Pressure.

The kind of mental load where you're exhausted before you've even started.

So we started off her day brain dumping, everything big small, if she was thinking it needed doing it got written down, nothing groundbreaking.

Just a simple way of sorting through what actually needed her attention.

But here's what happened...

She realised most of the things shouting in her head weren't urgent.

Some weren't even important.

She could focus on the musts, ditch the shoulds, see where they were feeding her unhelpful scripts & suddenly Monday stopped feeling like a weekly attack.

Because when your brain isn't carrying everything, life feels a lot lighter.

You don't need better time management.
You might just need less on your mental plate.

Ready to put your SELF FIRST? DM Script & I'll send you how.

Sometimes I'm almost embarrassed to talk about the work I do.

Not because it doesn't create change.
Because it doesn't always look like the shiny coaching transformations we've been taught to expect.

Nobody is quitting their job to live in Bali. Nobody is waking up at 5am, drinking celery juice and becoming a whole new person overnight. The changes are usually much quieter than that.

A client asks herself:

"What's the worst that can happen?"
And suddenly has a conversation she's been avoiding for six months.

Another starts questioning the running commentary in her own head with:
"Is that actually true?" And realises she's been treating opinions as facts.

Simple.

But not easy.

Because when you've been running the same script for years, interrupting it can feel almost impossible. The script is logical. The script feels true. The script has probably helped you survive, achieve, cope and keep going.

The hardest part? The script sounds just like you.

Which means most women don't realise it's a script at all.

They think it's reality.

So instead, we go hunting for bigger solutions. Another book. Another podcast.
Another plan. Another thing to fix.

A bit like turning the entire house upside down looking for your car keys...

Only to discover they were in the first place you looked.

Sometimes we're so deep inside our own thinking we genuinely can't see what's right in front of us. That's why I don't spend my time giving women 47-step plans.

I create space for them to pause. To notice. To question. To choose differently.

Sometimes that means setting the alarm and going for the run you've been talking about for six months.

But more often?

It starts with one question.

One interrupted thought.

One moment of catching yourself before the autopilot takes over.

The changes might look small from the outside. But they're often the very things that change everything. If you're wondering what working with me looks like...

It's usually less about becoming somebody new.

And more about removing the stories that stop you being yourself.

I helped her sit down and do some knitting.

Sounds ridiculous, doesn't it?
Except for her, it wasn't.

Because when you've spent years believing your worth comes from what you do for everyone else, sitting down to do something purely because you enjoy it can feel almost impossible.

Not difficult.
Impossible.
The house needs doing.
The washing needs sorting.
Someone needs something.
There is always a reason not to.

And the frustrating part? The script makes perfect sense.

It's logical.
It's familiar.
It's kept you functioning for years.

Until one day you realise you're holding everything together but you've somehow disappeared from the picture.

So no, the breakthrough wasn't knitting.

The breakthrough was noticing the script running underneath it.

The one that said she had to earn her rest.
Earn her joy.
Earn time for herself.

And once we started challenging that script? The knitting happened naturally.

That's the thing about this work.

I don't create dramatic, overnight life transformations.

I help women rewrite the scripts that make simple things feel impossible.

The result isn't usually loud.

It's quieter than that.

Lighter than that.

It's people looking at you slightly longer and saying:

"Have you done something different?"

And the answer is:

"No. I just stopped believing my own bu****it and started putting myself first."

Ready to make the same change? DM me Self & lets do it!

The most powerful question I ever learned wasn't:

"How do I stop overthinking?"

It was:

"Is this actually true?"

Because most spirals aren't caused by facts.

They're caused by assumptions.

The meaning.

The interpretation.

The story we've written around the situation.

So the next time your brain starts filling in the blanks, pause.

Ask:

"Who told me that?"

And if the answer is nobody...

You might have just found the story.

I'm Sarah, a reconnection coach for women who are done overthinking themselves out of their own lives.

Follow along if you're ready to challenge the stories, not just the thoughts.

For a long time I thought courage looked like leaving.

Leaving the relationship.
Starting again.
Rebuilding my life.
Creating stability from chaos.
And don't get me wrong, all of those things required courage.
But recently I've realised something.

For women like me, survival is familiar.
Give us a crisis and we'll find a way through.
Give us a problem and we'll solve it.
Give us a mountain and we'll start climbing.

The harder challenge comes later.
When the emergency ends.
When the life you've been working towards finally arrives.
Because suddenly there isn't a fire to put out.

There's just a question:
Can I trust myself enough to enjoy this?
Can I stop waiting for the next thing to go wrong?
Can I stop proving my worth through struggle?
Can I receive the life I've worked so hard to build?

I think this is why so many women find themselves looking around at a life that objectively looks pretty good and wondering why it still feels like something is missing.

Not because they need more.
Because they've forgotten how to be.
And if that feels uncomfortably familiar... you're exactly the woman I created Self First for. 💜

Ever wondered why your brain keeps taking the same route?

Why one awkward conversation becomes a three-hour mental documentary?

Because your brain loves familiar.

Even when familiar isn't helpful.

The stories you've repeated for years become the easiest ones to access.

"I'm behind."

"I'm failing."

"They must be annoyed."

The more often you think them, the quicker they arrive.

Which is why awareness matters.

You can't challenge a story you don't realise you're telling yourself.

I'm Sarah, a reconnection coach for women who are done overthinking themselves out of their own lives.

And sometimes the first step isn't changing the thought.

It's noticing the pattern.

Sorry, not sorry.

This "nobody helps me" vibe? It's not because people don't care.
It's because you've taught them their help isn't needed.

Then you find yourself wondering why nobody checks in, offers support or takes anything off your plate. Whilst that feels true... sometimes we've accidentally created it.

Not intentionally.
Just repeatedly.

Every time you say:
"I've got it."
"It's fine."
"Don't worry."
"I'll do it."

You're teaching people to step back.
People learn how to treat us from what we allow, accept and repeatedly communicate.

And if your default setting is:
"I'll do it myself."

Don't be surprised when people start believing you.

If this stings a little...
I created a free 5 Minute Receiving Ritual to help you notice where you're accepting support, where you're rejecting it and the stories attached to both.

Comment RECEIVE and I'll send it over.

For years I thought the problem was overthinking.

Turns out, it wasn't the thoughts.

It was what I was making them mean.

"This is hard."
⬇️
"I'm not good enough."

"They haven't replied."
⬇️
"They must be annoyed with me."

The thought arrives.

Then we attach a story.

And before we know it, we're reacting to the story rather than the actual situation.

I see this all the time with the women I work with.

Not because they're weak.

Not because they're dramatic.

Because somewhere along the way they learned to fill in the blanks and make themselves responsible for everything.

The good news?

What's learned can be questioned.

And what's questioned can be changed.

I'm Sarah, a reconnection coach for women who are done overthinking themselves out of their own lives.

If this sounds uncomfortably familiar, you're in the right place.
