Story time: this logo and tshirt design is a labor of love for sure. You may have gathered from my website and other posts that I am from Central Ohio, Columbus specifically. But, my extended family on my dad's side is from Cuyahoga Falls and I grew up hiking at the different parks in the Valley.

Since childhood, that extended family have all died (it was a small family and an even longer story) and for a while, I didn't have a reason to go back to the area. Maybe a year or 2 after selling my grandfather's house, I found this group on Facebook and went on my first hike with them. Since then, I've dragged a whole gaggle of friends with me on early morning drives up to Akron to go on these hikes once a month for almost 2 years now.

Whether this group knows it or not, being asked to design the t-shirt made me very proud to be q***r and very proud to use my skills to bring a little joy to the ones I love.

Sending all my love and support to nonprofits and other organizations today as the United States celebrates !
Don't forget to ask for donations because you never receive what you don't ask for. For everyone else that's already holiday shopping, donating to an organization in someone's name is also a great way to show them you care!

Here's the brand board for the CDR's Superhero Dash! They wanted to keep their red, blue, and yellow color scheme from previous race years, but needed updated imagery. I'm not going to lie though, the typography for this one was fun. How does one illustrate comic-style font without using Comic Sans?

This is my first logo design for a 5k race! This superhero dash with family obstacle course was a fun one to work on. What are your thoughts on this superhero theme?

I know it's really easy to start thinking about gathering around a table full of food and celebrating Thanksgiving with friends and family, but it's also a good time to reframe your thoughts around this month and this holiday through the perspective of Native Americans. Take time to celebrate their accomplishments, their discoveries, and their cultures (without appropriating).
It's also a great time to research some local nonprofits who are fighting to restore rights and opportunities to Native Americans across the U.S. and in your community. Donate money or your time to support those organizations and people.

ArkBuilders Inc. will forever be my OG client, which is why I will always love any new project George brings to me. A new initiatve from ArkBuilders was developed this year to help connect communities with resources to further students' futures.
