Hi, I'm Jen! 👋

👉 I ask a ridiculous number of very interesting questions.
👉 I have more sticky notes than any reasonable person should.
👉 I draw 75-100 logo ideas when working on an identity project.
👉 I believe that design is stronger when paired with a clear strategy.

Basically, I’m equal parts curious investigator, enthusiastic guide, and relentless idea catalyst—all in service of helping faith-driven entrepreneurs become clearer, braver, and better known.

People think branding ends when the logo is approved.

That's actually where it begins.

A logo is a symbol of who you are. It represents you when words cannot.

A brand guide tells everyone on your team how to consistently communicate who you are.

⇢ Purpose.
⇢ Vision.
⇢ Mission.
⇢ Values.
⇢ Messaging.
⇢ Voice.
⇢ Typography.
⇢ Colors.
⇢ Photography.

It all works together to create trust.

☝️ FIRST, you have to know WHO YOU ARE, and a lot of organizations have pieces but not all of these in one place.

✗ That makes onboarding new employees hard.
✗ Public relations efforts are confusing.
✗ Marketing is hit or miss.

But when your brand is clearly defined and documented:

✓ New employees understand who you are faster.
✓ PR tells one clear, consistent story.
✓ Marketing becomes more focused and effective.
✓ Every person representing the organization has the same foundation.

A brand guide does not limit creativity.

It gives creativity a clear place to begin.

In building the look and feel for Northpoint on Jarvis Creek, I strongly felt the need incorporate elements of the Lowcountry so that it felt like this neighborhood had always been a part of the Hilton Head Island community. Incorporating local elements became vital to create that familiarity and trust.

➾ The Great White Egret
➾ Whitewashed wooden textures
➾ Moss-covered trees

Consistent branding builds trust. Trust that you've landing in the right place.

How do you do this with branding?
➾ Make sure the website, socials, email signature, business cards, etc reflect the same feeling of the brand speaking with the same tone.

Question you should ask:
• Does your website reflect the same elements in your email signature?
• Do your socials look and feel the same as your website?
• Does your business card FEEL the same as your email signature?
• Do your written communications look similar to your digital ones?

If you ranked your touch points on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the best, how would you rank your brand?

I'm excited to finally share a project I've had the privilege of helping bring to life over the past several months.

Northpoint on Jarvis Creek is a new workforce neighborhood on Hilton Head Island, created for the teachers, nurses, first responders, hospitality professionals, and other essential workers who keep the island running every day. Its purpose is simple: to create thoughtfully designed homes where the people who serve Hilton Head Island can also call it home.

The challenge wasn't creating a beautiful logo.

The challenge was changing perception.

How do you introduce workforce housing to a community known for its high design standards without feeling institutional, defensive, or out of place?

We began with strategy.

Together, we uncovered the deeper story. This wasn't about affordable housing. It was about belonging. Stewardship. Creating a neighborhood, not just a development. A place designed with the same care and restraint that defines Hilton Head Island itself.

From there, every design decision had a purpose.

The Great White Egret became the symbol of the brand because it represents belonging, balance, and a quiet, enduring presence in the Lowcountry. The messaging focused on people instead of policy. Even the words we chose mattered. We talked about homes instead of units and a neighborhood instead of a development, because brands are built as much through language as they are through visuals.

This project is a reminder of why I love what I do.

Good branding isn't about just making something look uniquely beautiful.

It's about helping people see something differently.

I'm honored to have partnered with the incredible team behind Northpoint and can't wait to watch this community come to life.

Most people think branding ends with a logo.

The logo is only a fraction of where the real work behind a strong brand.

For Vocare Wealth Advisors, we created a comprehensive brand guide
that defines how they think, speak, and show up—consistently.

From messaging → to tone → to visual ex*****on,
this becomes the foundation for every decision they make moving forward.

Because a strong brand isn’t just DESIGNED.
It’s DEFINED.

If your brand still feels inconsistent…
it’s probably missing this layer.

Vocare Wealth Advisors is helping people pursue retirement with purpose.

Not wealth for wealth’s sake.
Wealth for what matters.

Reimagining retirement as a more meaningful chapter.

Vocare Wealth Advisors
→ Retire on Purpose

There is simplicity in the mark—
with growth symbolized by a leafed branch.

The serif typography brings a sense of professionalism and trust,
positioning the brand with quiet authority.

The color palette reflects both stability and growth—
an executive navy paired with a deep, grounded green,
with gold accents signaling a high-touch, thoughtful experience.

Every detail works together to reflect who Vocare is
and how they serve.

What are the details of your brand reflecting about your organization?

Helping people retire INTO something on purpose,
not just FROM something by default.

The story starts with the name.
Coming from the Latin—“to call,” Vocare is the root of vocation, purpose, and advocacy.

Vocare Wealth Advisors was built on a belief:
retirement isn’t just a financial milestone—it’s a meaningful transition.

Founder Albert Wu and his team are creating a different kind of experience—
one centered on clarity, trust, and thoughtful guidance through every stage of life.

They help clients prepare for retirement with a holistic approach—
integrating tax strategy, estate planning, retirement income, and wealth planning into one personalized plan.

Because when your finances are aligned,
you’re better positioned to step into what comes next with confidence and purpose.

Retire on Purpose.

–––––––––––––––––––

This is the kind of work I love doing—
helping brands move beyond what they do
and into what they mean.

If your brand still sounds like everyone else…
it’s time for a different conversation.

The Lift Up Girls icon brings several ideas together in one mark.

The visual references the trades the women learn, the interwoven support system built around them, and the beauty, strength, and hope that emerge through healing.

Lift Up girls needed a way to explain the need and their unique solution in a way that donors could understand and get involved. They also needed a way to accept and track donations so that donors felt invovled and have a bigger impact in Uganda.

We chose Squarespace for its ease of use. Together, we partnered to build the brand in their digital space online so that the Lift Up Girls staff could easily update the site as needed.

Our goals were to create excitement about the work being done there rather than use fear tactics.

American Director, Perry Johnson, said this about working together: "[Jen] did a fantastic job with our website...."

Across Uganda, thousands of young mothers are trapped in poverty and shame. Lift Up Girls walks beside these vulnerable women to provide wrap-around care and vocational training that restores their physical, emotional, and spiritual health, helping them rise and restoring hope, dignity, and faith.

While this scrappy non-profit had been making a difference in Ugandan for several years, they needed a message and identity that could help donors quickly see the mission, trust the work, and join the impact.

More to come!
