A snapshot of the topics that have been coming up most lately in client work and with colleagues.

Which one are you prioritizing, or which of these that you’re already doing has had the biggest impact on your business?

I’ve learned a lot about community over the past year and the importance of/what a real achievement it is building a support system you know you can count on if (when) life gets rocky.

And in my search for more of that, I found .diana 💙

A group of women I affectionately refer to as deep thinkers and deep feelers. A support system. The type of space where, like yesterday, you can reach out in a moment of overwhelm and get the advice you need— turn off your phone, take a critical look at your priorities list (then cut it in half), have a good cry and feel what you’re feeling. A space for building real connections with women who all make the choice to show up authentically and inspire one another. Celebrate each other’s wins. Share resources and knowledge. Talk about the things that matter.

If you’ve ever felt like you might be a little different— ask deeper questions, feel deeper empathy— I encourage you to check it out and apply to join. It includes a podcast that features some incredible women, an online community that will without question inspire you to grow, and— my personal favorite— a monthly letter that somehow always feels like it was written just for me.

Anyone else in need of some good news lately?

Everything feels so heavy recently that I decided to go out of my way to find some good news. And I’m glad I did.

This post isn’t meant to minimize any of the awful things happening here and across the globe right now, but I’m hoping it’ll find the people it’s meant for who need an occasional reminder that even when it all feels overwhelming, good things are still happening every day.

(And no pressure, but I’d love to hear your good news in the comments, too.)

Planning is not about expecting everything to get done, it’s about closing the open tabs in my brain.

It’s about having to physically confront the unrealistic expectations I set for myself; visualizing how ridiculous it is that I thought I could tackle 15 projects before noon, for example.

It’s about undoing the feeling that I’m at the mercy of my commitments and getting back in the driver’s seat of my schedule to make time for what matters to me personally.

It’s about having a notification and distraction free space to evaluate where I invest my energy.

I spend thirty minutes on Sundays and the last 15 minutes of each work day planning my week and day ahead.

It is by far the most impactful tool I have for leaving work at work, being more present in my personal life, and carrying less anxiety and overwhelm.

I think we all know which brand I use, but as someone in the industry, I’ve got the scoop on all of them. If you want a recommendation, comment or shoot me a DM. 🤍

caring about the details,
bringing all of yourself

and need for approval.”

What would you do differently if you could start over here?

I saw a founder answer this question recently. Her advice was simple: I’d use one post to set my intentions so that the people it’s meant for know it, and the people it doesn’t connect with have an out.

So now that marketing resources and support have a new home in — and I get to use this space for me as a person rather than me as a service— here’s my take on that.

I’m hard coded with empathy and entrepreneurialism. And for me, that manifests as a love for the human side of business— from the stories that inspire me to the systems that ground me. I don’t measure success in reach and revenue irl, I measure it in connections made, people served, and personal growth.

So in this space and in this season, that’s what I’ll be doing a lot more of. So glad you’re here.
