What a hidden gem! I swear the small wineries make the best wine, more care in the flavour, and more heart in the process. They turn grape stomping into a full-on party, nothing like the big wineries with their machines. I’d love to come back in October after harvest and get my feet in there (they’re always looking for people to help). If you’re ever in the Douro Valley, make sure to 'stomp' by these little spots. Casa do Poço - Douro & Maria Manuela Matos Mendes, and check out the other smaller wineries in the area!

This idea started on a cramped bus in Lisbon before 7am. I've never been so tightly packed and I joked to my dad that we were like sardines. In Portugal, and they love sardines there (me not so much). That moment the idea struck and months later I finally finished this little piece. The sardines took forever and maybe I'll play with this idea some more in the future someday.
