Did someone say art show? Check it out!
I am so excited to share that we are hosting an evening of Art, Food + Shopping with local artist Allen Skinner . Come meet Allen and view his work THURSDAY JUNE 8th while enjoying Greentree Kitchen appetizers. Artwork is available for purchase. TICKETS available through https://www.greentree.kitchen/events or by cash in the shop. Allen is an artist that has been working for many years in many mediums. Allen's repertoire includes painting in oil, gouache, watercolour and acrylic. He is also quite comfortable with all kinds of sculpture. In 1998 he was part of a show in Cambridge Ontario. One of an artist collective, two other artists and I created a collection of Raku, Mosaic, and Mural handmade tiles we subsequently designed 3 restaurants in the Kitchener Waterloo area and painted all the murals for the African lion Safari (1995-1999). In 2000 Allen's first independent art show was on the Danforth in Toronto"31" was a show based on the construction of 31 masks and presented just before Halloween. The show sold out. Allen has also designed sets for the stage in Toronto's Fringe festival and Dacapo Productions of Godspell and costuming and Props For "Into the Woods" and various other productions in the GTA.
Throughout covid new and extremely hurtful challenges present themselves, to work through these he created what turned out to be a large body of deeply personal work that was and is a portrait of progressive healing therapy and solace in the deep meditation of creating. On display, you will see a selection of the show ASCENSION, a covidicus collection.
