My nautical wedding invitation and stationery line Concertina Press was developed in response to a need I saw for really cool and different nautical wedding invitations. Sandals, starfish and lighthouses express just a small part of what I think of when I think of the ocean. After working in a scientific library I realized that there are thousands of really beautiful antique scientific illustrati

ons in journals, made obsolete with the invention of photography, just waiting to be shown to the public. By using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, as well as my previous experience with stationery design gleaned from my work at a stationery shop, I turn these old illustrations into the nautical wedding invitation and stationery designs that make Concertina Press stand out.

Does anyone know what that lumpy squished together shell lump is? I know the bottom shell has barnacles but the top lump is almost like it’s glued together. Found in Cocoa Beach, Florida (Atlantic side)

Years ago my husband and I thought it would be fun to live on a sailboat, so we got our certifications from American Sailing Association for chartering a 30-45' boat, including a multi day overnight trip down here in the Intracoastal waterway...and during this trip quickly realized that living on a sailboat is very close to camping, which we hate. That sound, my friends, is the sound of a dream dying, hahaha. Oh well! At least we didn't go buy a huge boat and THEN find out. And now we're licensed to rent a huge boat if we ever wanted to! I think we'll stick to short day sails, thanks.

These oyster shell invites are inspired by my love of the ocean - when I lived on Cape Cod we used to have a recreational shellfishing license and I remember eating oysters in January, with a squeeze of lemon and dab of horseradish. The briny taste of the sea! In the summer we'd shuffle our feet for quahogs - no clam wedding invites though (yet?!)⁠

A recent customer ordered Sailboat save the dates for her wedding in Annapolis, Maryland - we added a personal touch with customized Annapolis nautical chart envelope liners! How perfect for one of the sailing capitals of the USA (I love sailing! We used to go sail around Buzzard's Bay in an old O'day 23 when we lived on the Cape)

I just revamped some of my old (ancient, by internet standards...2014!) listing photos and I'm holding a S A L E to celebrate! And by "celebrate" I mean "get rid of some overstock before the next giant hurricane comes and washes them away" 😂😭
