We are honored to welcome Cam Brown to our Expert Business Growth Panel.

Cam Brown is the Director of Business Services and Interim Head of the Neighborhood Business Development Center (NBDC) at Far South Community Development Corporation - one of Chicago's most dedicated organizations working to drive economic mobility across the South Side.

In his role, Cam leads initiatives focused on small business support, strategic partnerships, and creating real pathways to opportunity for entrepreneurs in underserved communities. His background spans workforce development, community engagement, mortgage lending, and public relations - giving him a uniquely well-rounded perspective on what it actually takes to build economic stability from the ground up.

Cam is joining our Expert Business Growth Panel to represent something this event is built on - the belief that entrepreneurship, equity, and economic opportunity are deeply connected, and that the right support at the right time can change the entire trajectory of a business and a community.

We are beyond thrilled to welcome Kim Lewis, CEO and Co-Founder of CurlMix, to Ignite Chicago for a Fireside Chat.

Kim is a South Side Chicago native who built CurlMix from her kitchen into a multi-million dollar natural hair care brand - completely on her own terms. In 2019, she turned down a $400K offer on ABC's Shark Tank, secured a $1.2M investment from former LinkedIn CEO Jeff Weiner, landed on Forbes 30 Under 30, made Oprah's Favorite Things list, and raised over $5 million in equity crowdfunding from her own customers.

She did all of this while employing local Chicago talent, keeping her manufacturing facility on the South Side, and staying rooted in the community she came from.
Kim is not just a business success story. She is proof that purpose-driven, community-first entrepreneurship is not only possible - it is powerful.

At Ignite Chicago, Kim will join us for a Fireside Chat about building with conviction, understanding your value, and what it really looks like to grow a brand on your own terms in today's market.

We are honored to welcome Bill Skeens to our Expert Business Growth Panel.
Bill Skeens is the former Founder and CEO of Prairie City Bakery - the Chicago-born bakery he built from a single product into a national powerhouse over 25 years.

It started with Muffin Tops. It grew to over 125 products sold in 30,000+ locations nationwide across retail, convenience stores, in-store bakeries, and food service - with customers including 7-Eleven, WAWA, Walgreens, Starbucks, and Chuck E. Cheese. For a decade, Prairie City Bakery was also the Official Cookie of the Chicago Cubs. Prairie City Bakery was named to the Inc. 500/5000 four times as one of the fastest-growing companies in America, and Bill was recognized by Smart Business magazine and US Bank as one of their top 10 business leaders in 2010.
In 2019, Bill sold the company to McKee Foods - the parent company of Little Debbie - and has since dedicated himself fully to mentoring entrepreneurs. He has personally mentored over 150 companies through the University of Chicago Polsky Center for Entrepreneurship, 1871, and the Neighborhood Entrepreneurship Lab. He is also an author and speaker whose signature talk - Starting a Business and Lessons Learned Along the Way - has resonated with founders, MBA students, and business communities across the country.

Bill is joining our Expert Business Growth Panel to share what 25 years of building, scaling, and eventually exiting a business actually looks like - the wins, the hard lessons, and everything in between. He has been in the room with major retailers, navigated every stage of growth, and come out the other side with the kind of perspective that only comes from doing it for real.
For any founder who wants to know what the long game looks like, Bill is the person on this panel who has lived it.

We are so honored to welcome Quentella Enty to our Expert Business Growth Panel.
Quentella Enty is the kind of leader who has operated at every level - from advising Chicago mayors to representing the United States as a Trade Delegate across Africa, the Caribbean, Europe and Asia. She brings that same breadth of experience directly to the founders and organizations she serves.

As Founder and Chief Partner Strategist of Callie Management Group, Quentella helps organizations adopt advanced technologies, streamline operations, and scale with precision. She holds an MBA from Benedictine University, is a Harvard Business School alum, and is a Co-Protagonist in the HBS case study KFA: Building the Future - having presented alongside HBS faculty in over seven Harvard lectures. She also holds executive certifications from Duke University and Northwestern University Kellogg.

Her career spans technology, supplier development, strategic procurement, and organizational transformation across high-growth firms and global enterprises. She has served on procurement committees for three Chicago mayors, been recognized by the MBDA, honored by 50+ St. Louis aldermen, and earned the ICIC Hall of Fame distinction after her firm won the Inner City 100 Award five times in seven years.

Quentella is joining our Expert Business Growth Panel to bring something rare to this room - the ability to take the most complex business and technology challenges and make them immediately actionable for the founder sitting in front of her. Two decades of strategic intelligence, distilled into one afternoon.

We are honored to welcome Adrienne McFarland to our Expert Business Growth Panel.
Adrienne McFarland is not just an advocate for Chicago's small businesses - she is one of the people actively moving resources, capital, and opportunity into the hands of the founders who need it most.

As Director of the Illinois Small Business Development Center at the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, Adrienne leads no-cost advising, training, and access to capital for entrepreneurs across the Chicagoland region, with a deep focus on supporting socially and economically disadvantaged founders and very small businesses. She has played a key role in deploying millions of dollars in capital to Chicago small businesses and has built a reputation for connecting founders to resources most people do not even know exist.

Beyond the SBDC, she is the principal consultant of Coupla LLC, a member of the Obama Leaders USA 2025–2026 cohort, and Fundraising Chair for Girls Inc. of Chicago.
She shows up for founders in every room she enters.

Adrienne is joining our Expert Business Growth Panel to share what she sees every day working directly with Chicago's entrepreneurs - what separates the businesses that grow from the ones that stall, where the real resources are, and how purpose-driven founders can position themselves to access the support that is already out there waiting for them.

Meet one of the powerhouse voices joining us at Ignite Chicago on May 29. 👏🏾
We are proud to welcome Sharnell Curtis-Martin to our Expert Business Growth Panel.

Sharnell Curtis-Martin has spent her entire career doing one thing - making sure Chicago's business owners and community organizations get access to the capital they need to grow.
As Associate Managing Director and Community Development Relationship Manager at CIBC USA, she works directly with founders and entrepreneurs seeking the resources to establish and scale their businesses. Before CIBC, she served as Director of Access to Capital at the Women's Business Development Center and spent 14 years as a Senior Funding Manager at the Illinois Finance Authority. Across her career she has closed more than 900 transactions representing over $1.2 billion in financings.

At Ignite Chicago, Sharnell is joining our Expert Business Growth Panel to bring real conversation about the financial side of building a sustainable business, from someone who has been in those rooms for decades.
She understands both sides of the table. She knows what founders need, and she knows what institutions require.
If access to capital has ever felt out of reach for your business or organization, Sharnell is the person in the room who can change that.
