I've been trying out all sorts of stenciling, stamping, sponging techniques for my little wooden ornaments! I was making one for my Dad, and decided to make some for the Shop for upcoming Father's Day in June. Instead of grilling tools, maybe just a simple message!

The cat image is a rubber stamp that I carved out myself. The messages are hand painted using my sparkly paint, and a glossy acrylic varnish. All non toxic and fine for kids. Matching fabric hanging ribbon.

Had a good time at Columbia Pike Farmers Market on Sunday morning! They have shade trees, live music, lots of good vendors, and they've been there for 30 years! I plan on being there again this Sunday. Corner of S. Walter Reed and Columbia Pike in Arlington. 9am to 1pm.
Taylor Ruckle is the singer's name.

Arlington, here I come! This Sunday I will be at Pike Park Market, on Columbia Pike and Walter Reed Drive. Saturday at Gustave's Beer Garden on Mt. Vernon Ave. we have our Art Market, from 9 to 1pm. I've just framed my new Virginia Dogwoods watercolor where I'm trying overlapping the translucent colors, and sponge and splatter techniques.

This Sunday I will be at Old Town North Market! With it and my many other new products! Old Town North has a new farmer vendor, the market manager Margaret tells me. My new products are beautiful batik light weight cotton scarves. Which I make, and love to wear. They are great for summer travel to cool places. I have my expanded book collection, many new paintings, Mother's Day cards, new birthday cards, and tie dyed t-shirts for Alexandria, Del Ray and Fairfax. So much fun. About the painting: I took photos of this scene, first in January, when there were huge ice piles. The dog is actually at the edge of the snow. But we don't usually have snow, so I didn't want it in there. So in March I took some new photos sans snow. The sun was in a slightly different position however. So this is a conglomerate of the two photos.

Just printed new Fairfax shirts for Spring and Summer! They're laying out to dry. Also my latest baseball caps - one with this lovely lace attached. Trying out new sponge techniques from a book I got. I'll have these Sunday morning at West End Market at Brenman Park. And in May at Saturday's Del Ray's Gustave Art Market (9th May), and at Fairfax Saturday Market on May 16th.

Finally getting to my cotton scarves for Spring! I just finished this lightweight cotton scarf where I added a pink fringe! I'll have them with and without the fringe. Sunday (tomorrow) morning at West End Market in the Yellow Dot van in Brenman Park off of Duke Street. Should be a perfect day for it.

Easter is coming! I will be at West End Market that morning. April 5th, with Easter cards, new framed paintings, hats and more!

Ironically, one of my new paintings is actually an autumn painting with leaves. Oh well, I love painting leaves. This one is gouache, just finished. I got a really nice wooden frame for it. The large leaf is the actual size of the leaf! We found it at Tuckahoe State Park, Maryland a few years ago, during an after-Thanksgiving hike. I've kept it ever since and finally have done some paintings of it.
My other new painting has some words on it which I felt went with the painting, so became a part of it. I love these colors. This one is also gouache watercolor on paper, and a new frame. I have it at very reasonable.
