No, I’m not. I just don’t have the option to NOT handle it. I have tiny humans who rely on me, chores to complete, and food to make.

I don’t get the option to fall apart.
Or bed rot my feelings away.

The household keeps moving whether or not I’m okay.

I get the option to take a deep breath, wipe my tears, and keep going.

My emotional tank may be running on fumes,
my bones are aching for a break,
and my heart is tired.

However, I keep going.
Not for me, but for them.

The demands of motherhood keep coming whether I’m ready for them or not.
