Historical Highlights:🌲 Built in 1854: She is the last sail-only warship designed and built by the U.S. Navy.🌍
The African Squadron Flagship: From 1859 to 1861, she served as the flagship disrupting the transatlantic slave trade, successfully freeing over 3,000 enslaved people.⚔️
Civil War Service: She protected American merchant shipping overseas and served the nation for over a century before decommissioning in 1955.
