Social media can be a real time stealer if you let it. Efficiency is the key.

When you comment "following" on a post you want to keep track of, your notifications may overwhelm you when other people comment on the same post.

Sure, you could share the post to your page. But what if it's not something you want to share right now or ever?

Plus, you will have to scroll pretty far down your timeline when you want to refer to it again.

When you see a post you want to share or reference later, simply click the drop down arrow above the post. Then click "Save Video" or "Save Post."

You can easily store and find these posts in the Saved tab.

(It's great for all those recipes I'm eventually going to attempt. Or, more importantly, for curating content for your business page.)

Which is the most pleasant shopping experience?

A. A pushy sales associate who talks too much, assumes what you like, and never takes the time to find out anything about you and what you actually like. At the register, she pressures you multiple times to sign up for the store's credit card.

B. The store is a ghost town. Not a sales associate in sight. No signs. No help.

C. A genuine sales associate listens to you, finds out your likes and dislikes, and guides you to exactly what you need. She really seems to "get you" in such a short time, and it feels like you have always been friends.

Most people would choose Experience C. That's exactly how you should develop your social media strategy. You want to be present but not pushy on social networks. Find out who your target market is and consistently interact with them. With every post, ask yourself, "Am I offering my target market valuable content?"
