To our friends, family, and supporters that have been there for BookBase, we want to share an update. Before we do, we would like to share with you all the story that created this company. BookBase initially started off as a pitch for a mandatory competition that occurred in our MBA program. What started off as a fun idea turned into a serious proposition for an adventure as we won more competitions and gathered resources that led towards the creation of a startup.
We’ve faced many obstacles when it came to making BookBase what it is now. There were a lot of questions, a lot of risks, but ultimately, there was always satisfaction in doing what we did because we believed that reading has the power to change lives and create community. As we garnered more followers and users on our platforms, we also furthered our belief in what we were doing was something special.
While that belief is still alive, we are saddened to say that BookBase will no longer be supporting our app, having the last day be July 25, 2026. There are multiple reasons for this decision, but to say it simply, the app requires more than we can give right now. Therefore, we want to put a pause on that side of things.
What does this mean for BookBase? Well, we will keep doing what we’ve always been doing. Interviewing authors, being a part of local events in the area, and continuing to create content that supports the rationale that books still hold an important place in our lives. Thank you all again for the amazing support and love we’ve gotten these past couple of years, we couldn’t have done this without you.
