Bob Marriott to be honored with a "LIfetime Achievement Award" at the 4th Annual Fly Fishing Film Tour Orange County Edition on Sat. May 14th at the District Tustin Legacy.

(Tustin, CA) May 14, 2016 - The Calico Syndicate and Tight Loop Media will honor retailer Bob Marriott with a Lifetime Achievement Award at their 4th annual Fly Fishing Film Tour Screenings & Charity Event.

Bob Marriott is arguably one of the most significant members of the fly fishing community in Southern California over the past three decades. In the late 1980’s and 1990’s Bob Marriott’s Fly Fishing Store was widely known as the world’s biggest fly fishing store boasting brick and mortar, on-line, and catalog sales with highly productive travel department. Some of the industry’s biggest brands like Sage, ORVIS, and Simms were able to grow and thrive within this massive sales channel.

Personally hosting guided trips all over the world, Bob Marriott is one of, if not the Southland’s biggest ambassador to the sport, introducing anglers to once in-a-lifetime international destinations. Although Bob formally retired three years ago with the sale of the store to the Grizzly Hackle, he still works from his desk at the store every day.

The Bob Marriott Lifetime Achievement Award will become an annual award at F3T Orange County which is to honor members of the fly fishing community who have contributed significantly to the sport over their lifetime.
