Embarked on a visual journey at the end 2023 with a touch of tradition. Here's the bottom part of my recent illustration—three wise men on their camels, trekking through the vast desert. (Part 1)

Designers aren't just decorators; we're architects of visual communication. I take pride in the work I do, but it's disheartening when misconceptions overshadow our role. In a past seminar, I heard dismissive comments like this about graphic designers, questioning our worth. As the sole designer for the company, I wore many hats—brainstorming, communicating, and creating materials to propel the company forward.

It's challenging when the expectation is immediate gratification. Design is a process that requires thoughtful planning, feedback, and ex*****on. While I work efficiently, the demand for less than a quarter of the time needed without compromising quality is impractical. I'm here to elevate the company. Let's acknowledge the value of the steps it takes to get there.

Designed a meaningful tattoo for a family member: a phoenix rising from the ashes, symbolizing resilience and overcoming the past. Three stars shine brightly, representing each of their children. Honored to create a piece that reflects the strength and love within my family.

I found the original mobile mockup for Charleston Southern University's first financial literacy website. Worked on Buc$ense a few years ago as part of the crew under the universities Title III grant. Who knew financial wisdom could look this good on your phone, huh?

Some days are stormy, and creativity feels like a distant dream. On those days, I remind myself that it's okay not to have it all figured out. The act of creating, even if it's just a sketch or a fleeting idea, is a victory in itself. This post is a personal note to keep going, to be kind to myself, and to find motivation in the smallest creative acts.

I thought it's about time for a little intro. I'm Kaitlyn, the creative mind weaving those doodles and designs onto this page. You see these quirky illustrations you've somehow stumbled upon? Yep, that's my playground!

Aside from working on art, there's always a something playing in the background. Whether it's the latest tunes, an old favorite album, or the voice of a streamer filling the room – music is a constant companion on my creative journey. Currently, I've got a Twitch streamer providing the backdrop to my artistic adventures.

My goal is to make this a cozy corner where creativity meets good vibes. I don't always feel comfortable sharing my designs and ideas, especially with strangers, but I've decided to step out of my comfort zone for the 2024 year and see what happens. Feel free to share your thoughts, drop your favorite songs/streamers, or just say hello!

Finally diving into a redesign project I've been thinking about for ages. Here's a preview of the logo pattern in the works. Can't promise where the project will end up – might completely change or stay hidden forever. But every move is a chance to practice and learn, right?

Escape your comfort zone; normal is overrated. Celebrate uniqueness, embrace diversity, and challenge the idea that design should conform. Dive into exploration, provoke thought, and experiment with the unexpected. Redefine what's possible—never settle for the mundane.

Growth isn't always linear; it's messy, filled with detours and learnings. Each creation, no matter how small, is a step forward. Embrace the imperfect progress, and let it be a testament to your artistic evolution.

Let's debunk the myth: Graphic design isn't just about making things look pretty. It's a strategic dance of visuals and messaging. As a designer, my role goes beyond aesthetics—it's about crafting stories, guiding perceptions, and fostering connections.

Embarking on an independent project, I envisioned a website redesign for RedZone Technologies. The objective was to create an interface that not only embraced innovation but also prioritized an enhanced user experience. This included implementing intuitive navigation for seamless exploration, integrating engaging visuals to captivate users, ensuring a responsive design adaptable across devices, and more.

Every stroke, every pixel—it's a step on the path to something greater. Good things don't materialize out of thin air; they emerge from effort, passion, and the persistence to keep going. This post marks the start of my design journey on social media, a visual reminder that every beginning holds the potential for something extraordinary.
