Taste Creative We create stories that entertain, engage, and enrich

Taste Creative began with two passionate storytellers who wanted to make the world a better place with great creative – as simple as that. Beginning from scratch with nothing but a vision, Henry and Genevieve started Taste on a memorably hot, Sydney morning on the first Monday of 2010. Working from two desks side-by-side in a small, shoebox-sized office on the side of Genevieve’s bedroom, the pair

began working with clients to create film, animation, digital and print projects. Meanwhile, Genevieve had co-founded Bus Stop Films, a not for profit dedicated to providing filmmaking workshops to marginalised communities. Taste soon began developing inclusive commercial projects that provided professional experience and employment for people with disabilities from the workshops. Today, we continue our mission to make the world a better place and advocate for human rights through storytelling by creating content for organisations of all sizes.

At Taste Creative, we’re incredibly proud to have supported the development of this feature from its earliest stages, championing a bold, funny and deeply human story that deserves to be seen on the big screen.

Today is World Down Syndrome Day 💙💛

At Taste Creative, we’re celebrating the many incredible collaborations we’ve had with people with Down syndrome — artists, performers, storytellers and creatives who bring joy, honesty and brilliance to everything they do.

We’ve been lucky to work with some truly talented individuals whose work you can watch right now:

✨ Olivia Hardgroder in Sunshine — a moving and heartfelt performance, now streaming on Stan
✨ Olive, our cheeky, joyful little star from our live action Bluey series — cooking, playing and lighting up the screen on ABC Kids iview

These stories are full of heart, humour and truth — and they exist because of the unique perspectives and talents of the people at their centre.

Today is a reminder to celebrate people with Down syndrome for what they contribute. Because when we make space for everyone, storytelling becomes richer, more inclusive, and more reflective of the world around us.

Yesterday was a full circle moment for our founder, who took the stage at Rough Cuts to reflect on winning the festival in 2009 and what that win set in motion — a commitment to inclusive filmmaking that would go on to change so many lives.

In the same year she won Tropfest, Genevieve co-founded pioneering inclusive filmmaking and creating pathways into the screen industry for people from underrepresented communities.

For 10 years, taste creative proudly incubated Bus Stop Films — providing in-house support, mentors, tech support, office space, film equipment, post facilities and more. We incubated the employment model for hiring people with disability on professionals film sets, under Genevieves leadership we hired people with disability on advertising sets for brands like Australia Post, Tokyo Metropolitan Government, Westpac, Commbank, Carnival Cruises and more! It’s been one of the most meaningful collaborations in our company’s history, and we’ve loved every project, every breakthrough, and every story told along the way.

To see this journey shared at the comeback of Tropfest — the very festival where it all began — was something special.

✨ Sunshine is now streaming on Stan ✨

Written and produced by our founder Genevieve Clay-Smith, produced and edited by Stephanie Dower, and beautifully directed by Martha Goddard, Sunshine is a story about hope, love, and how a chance encounter with a stranger can change everything.

Starring the luminous Olivia Hardgroder and the incredible Anna McGahan, this intimate two-hander holds a very special place in our hearts.

Made inclusively with the Bus Stop Films QLD class of 2021 — a collaboration full of talent, generosity, and magic.

Who doesn’t love an origin story!!!! Every big idea starts small 💡 ready for some archives?

Taste Creative began not in a studio… but in a rundown home office in Petersham terrace !

Henry and Genevieve were just 21 — full of big dreams (and in Henry’s case, even bigger hair 😅).

After Genevieve’s Tropfest win in 2009, she started running inclusive filmmaking workshops — the spark that became . Around that time, she met Henry, and together they decided their company wouldn’t just make great creative work… it would make meaningful work.

Those early days were filled with borrowed cameras, late nights, and the belief that people with disability deserved to be included on set — not as charity, but as professionals.

From that little Petersham terrace, Taste became the incubator for Bus Stop Films — giving it a home, resources, and space to grow.

That belief still drives everything we do today 💛
